RANGERS boss Philippe Clement has revealed the injury Neraysho Kasanwirjo suffered on international duty looks set to keep him out for the long-term.
The Dutch full-back, on loan from Feyenoord, was forced off the pitch in tears whilst in action for Netherlands Under-21s last week.
He went down under no contact in the 77th minute of the match against England and immediately Gers fans began to think the worst.
The 22-year-old went down clutching his knee and there were fears his season would be over.
It’s understood Kasanwirjo will undergo an operation to fix the problem, and that the Ibrox club are in contact with Feyenoord about the player.
Philippe Clement said at his press conference today: “Kasanwirjo is going to have an appointment with a surgeon today, and we will have more news over the weekend.
“For sure, it is a longer-term injury.
“It’s a blow for everyone, especially for him. This is football, it is really hard as he was adapting really well.”
