When I see my mother or grandmother, I realize that when we take care of ourselves, we are our best friends. So, let’s start taking care of ourselves,” she said, emphasizing that the right time to love your body is now, regardless of age. She also stressed the role of doctors in guiding women on vaccination and awareness about cervical cancer.
Opening up about her own health journey, Nikita spoke candidly about being diagnosed with PCOD (Polycystic Ovary Disorder) in her teens. “I very vividly remember when I was a kid, in my teens, I was diagnosed with PCOD. That’s when I first encountered my gynaecologist. With the help of doctors, a proper diet, lifestyle changes, and faith in the process, I was able to reduce my PCOD in five years.” This personal experience, she shared, highlighted the complexity of women’s reproductive health and underscored the importance of staying informed and proactive.
Addressing the need for cervical cancer awareness, Nikita revealed that many of her friends were unaware of the cervix’s role in the reproductive system, mistakenly associating it with the neck. “Cervical cancer is an important issue to talk about, and in order to prevent it, we first need to understand it. Let’s start by talking about the cervix before anything else,” she said, urging women to educate themselves and take preventative measures, such as getting the HPV vaccine.
