It Looks Like We Won’t See Joan & Chock’s ‘Golden Bachelorette’ Wedding Any Time Soon

When is Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple’s Golden Bachelorette wedding? Well, it seems like it won’t be any time soon according to the couple who are focused on enjoying their engagement for the time being.

Joan and Chock officially revealed their engagement in Nov. 13’s finale episode of The Golden Bachelorette. While in Bora Bora, Chock popped the question to Joan after she picked him to be her winner in an emotional finale rose ceremony. “I waited til this moment in this amazing location to tell you that I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” Joan told the Kansas native during their Bora Bora proposal.

“I’ve been waiting forever to do this,” Chock told Joan before getting down on one knee and sealing the deal with a ring.

For now, Joan and Chock are enjoying not having to keep their romance a secret and making an exciting move to New York City. However, in Bachelor Nation, it doesn’t take long for winners to make it down the aisle after getting engaged in finale episodes so fans of The Golden Bachelorette only have one thing on their minds…

Will Joan & Chock Have a ‘Golden Bachelorette’ Wedding?

The Golden Bachelorette stars Joan and Chock have confirmed that they do plan on getting married. During a Nov. 14 appearance on Good Morning America, the couple confirmed that their future plans involve a wedding.

“I finally, like, look forward to the next chapter of my life. I lost that, you know, for quite a while,” Joan said. “I think just living a little bit of a normal life for a bit of time and then we’ll start making wedding plans.”

“She’s going to marry me … it’s just a matter of time,” Chock added, to which Joan interjected, “I am.”

Will Joan & Chock Televise Their Wedding?

Joan has said that she is open to the idea of a televised Golden Wedding, like we saw from Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist after their season of The Golden Bachelor but she definitely seems to have mixed thoughts.

“I can’t give you a definitive answer because right now, we’re just really happy that we get to be out in public and get to be a normal couple,” Joan told Katie Couric Media on Nov. 20. “I originally thought I wanted to have a small wedding just with our friends and family. But I also love this message that we get to share of hope, and that you can fall in love at this age, and you can change your life for the better in such a big way. Maybe we could continue to share that journey for a little longer. And maybe that looks like a wedding, or maybe even some time after the wedding, to see what life looks like at this age, trying to merge lives together.”

Previously, during an Oct. 23 appearance on The Viall Files podcast, Joan said that she would gladly have a TV wedding if she ended up engaged at the end of her season.

“I do think that Bachelor Nation, all the people that are invested in your journey and have watched you, do deserve to get a good finale,” Joan said when asked if she would televise her nuptials. “So, if it is a wedding or if we move in together or if I find somebody at all, they deserve to get to know that. It’s not fair to stop the story right when it’s ending.”

When Is Joan & Chock’s ‘Golden Bachelorette’ Wedding?

Joan and Chock have not officially set a date for their wedding. ABC has also not confirmed whether there will be an official The Golden Bachelorette wedding.

However, the couple have made it clear that they won’t move as quickly as The Golden Bachelor former couple Gerry and Theresa.

“You’re absolutely not going to see a TV wedding in three months,” Joan told Us Weekly on Nov. 19. “I loved that ending for Gerry and Theresa. The reason we’re not having a wedding in three months has nothing to do with Gerry and Theresa. I just don’t want to have another thing I have to plan right now. When we come together for a wedding, which could be a TV wedding, might not be, it won’t be in three months.”

The Golden Bachelor lead Gerry tied the knot to his winner on Jan. 4, 2024 after getting engaged in their season finale which aired on Nov. 30, 2023. However, Gerry and Theresa announced that they were getting divorced three months later so perhaps Chock and Joan will be looking to have a longer engagement before their wedding.

For now, Chock and Joan have plans to relocate to New York City, as they told Us Weekly after their finale engagement.

“This first year, obviously, we have to kind of figure out life. Chock has a business in Kansas. I have kids and grandkids and Maryland. I’m not leaving Maryland, but he does have obligations in Kansas,” Joan said. “We know that we’re gonna spend time in Maryland and in Kansas, but then we have this really fun plan because both of us have always dreamed — and we’re finally at this weird stage in life for making this dream come true — that we live in a big city, and, specifically, we’ve always wanted to live in New York. So Chock surprised me and said, ‘I want us to go find a place.’”

“We both love the energy in the city and love that there’s always something to do,” Joan continued. “We just wanna go out and walk and experience life — go to fun restaurants and [experience the] culture. We both have friends there. We’re gonna be there during the holidays, which is the best time ever in New York City. I think it’s just a really different life than either one of us have ever lived.”
