The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for parts of Lassen, eastern Plumas, and eastern Sierra counties, lasting until noon on Saturday.

Minor flooding is expected, particularly near the Susan River, small creeks, and streams. Areas close to recent burn scars could also see flooding. Heavy rain is driving the concern, with up to 3 to 6 inches of rainfall expected in the region. Peak flows are anticipated from late Friday into early Saturday morning.

Locations including Eagle Lake, Termo, Herlong, Beckwourth, Doyle, Blairsden, Plumas Eureka State Park, Graeagle, Chilcoot, Bieber, Sierraville, Nubieber, Stampede Reservoir, Verdi, Susanville, Standish, Janesville, Aspen Grove Campground, Antelope Lake and Spaulding are among those at risk. Urban areas, roads, and low-lying spots near creeks and streams are particularly vulnerable. Rock and debris slides could also impact roads, especially near burn scars.
Minor flooding could occur along the Susan River and in downstream areas around Susanville. Be prepared for standing water, potential road closures, and hazardous driving conditions.
Those in low-lying areas near the Susan River and creeks may need to sandbag properties to prevent water damage.
Avoid driving through flooded roads—just a small amount of water can sweep a vehicle away.
Stay alert for changing conditions and debris on roadways.
