Police confirmed three women, aged 18, 23 and 24, suffered serious injuries, while four others, aged 22, 26, 22 and 18, sustained minor injuries.

One of the women in the Fiat suffered life-changing injuries in the May 2023 crash.

Dures is now facing jail after pleading guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving to the four Fiat occupants.

She previously admitted driving with excess alcohol and was fined £253, ordered to pay £221 in costs and surcharge and was banned from driving for 14 months.

It is not known why all the charges were not dealt with together.

Wirral Magistrates’ Court heard the crash took place at 9.50pm in New Brighton, Merseyside.

Craig Welsby, prosecuting, said: “This matter relates to a collision where the defendant was travelling at speed and collided head on into another vehicle causing serious injuries to multiple parties including life changing injuries to one of the passengers.”

Dures, who runs a skin care business, was found to have 114 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood – the legal limit being 80mg.

Defence lawyer John Weate said: “The defendant is aware of the sentencing guidelines.

“She has in real terms no prior convictions. I am asking the court to direct a pre-sentence report to be prepared for the sentencing hearing.

“There has been a large number of people who have attended for this hearing who have been unable to come into court today. My client will also have a number of people from her family when she comes to be sentenced.”

Dures was released on bail ahead of sentencing at Liverpool Crown Court on February 3.
