Horoscope today, January 10, 2025: Daily star sign guide from Mystic Meg

OUR much-loved astrologer Meg sadly died in March 2023 but her column will be kept alive by her friend and protégée Maggie Innes.

Read on to see what’s written in the stars for you today.

♈ ARIES

March 21 to April 20

How you communicate today matters as much as what you say – so keep an eye on body language and subtle signals.

The moon is giving you extra ability to read people and you could even “see” answers before they arrive.

Love wishes mean most when they are shared, try not to hold too much inside

Your weekly horoscope for Friday

♉ TAURUS

April 21 to May 21

Pushing for a cash situation to be resolved is Mars’ strategy – but the moon urges more caution.

You have all the tact you need today to make this two-planet system work well, and get to where you need to be.

Pluto’s influence could make a long-term goal seem even more distant, but stick to your original planning.

♊ GEMINI

May 22 to June 21

A personal moon brings you passion sensitivity but also the kind of boldness that reboots excitement on so many levels.

Plus your chart also benefits from Jupiter generosity, so you can give a little, and still gain such a lot.

Cash choices may seem black and white, but there is a grey area when you look closer.

♋ CANCER

June 22 to July 22

Needs are stirring deep inside yourself for a less predictable kind of passion – this can happen with the partner you have, but the key factor is not to ignore them.

Work with them instead.

If you start the day single, an adventure fan may seem an unlikely match, yet you sense there is something there . . .

♌ LEO

July 23 to August 23

More than anything else, this is a day of social sparkle.

So say yes to every invitation and maybe issue a few yourself – you can set the scene for love, and luck, so expertly when you decide to take the plunge.

Pride may have served you well at work, but add a little humility today, to soften a tough connection.

♍ VIRGO

August 24 to September 22

Pluto’s hold on your career chart is strong, and this encourages big steps in a new direction.

But you also have the insight of the moon, so you can sense if a move will work for you.

Aiming for a short-term health change is less valuable than looking way into the future, and planning for that.

♎ LIBRA

September 23 to October 23

Today you can zoom right in on feelings and stop trying to disguise them with smart words or humour.

Taking yourself and your heart seriously is the cue other people have been waiting for, to do the same.

Mercury is getting established in your home zone, and a new address is taking shape.

♏ SCORPIO

October 24 to November 22

The moon dives deep, but Jupiter’s gentle good humour keeps things light – and this combination enables you to deal with difficult people with grace.

Not everyone may like what you decide to do next, but this doesn’t stop you being loved.

One further round of research can be the key to getting a cash plan through.

♐ SAGITTARIUS

November 23 to December 21

Your ability to connect, with anyone, anywhere, is extra-sharp today – try this out when you spot someone you’d love to know better, or when a work contact tries to take a step away from an ongoing plan.

You have real skill in TV or radio contests, too, as you sense exactly how and when to boost prizes.

♑ CAPRICORN

December 22 to January 20

Your health is your business, but someone you may have been closing out of discussions could have a valuable point to make.

You can listen to everyone, and still do what you think is best for yourself.

Independence at work is positive, but Jupiter’s input shows group thinking and acting can have a relevant place, too.

♒ AQUARIUS

January 21 to February 18

You’re way ahead of other zodiac signs in terms of pushing music and drama plans towards reality – and your words can be read or heard by an unexpected audience.

A family or work team of five can be lucky for you all day – but later, focus on a date linked to “J” that’s been remade several times.

♓ PISCES

February 19 to March 20

Sticking to purely practical aspects of a home change is a challenge for you usually – but today you can switch off emotions and work with your head before your heart.

This may let one dream go, but another, better, one is on its way.

Your favourite author, or TV presenter, can be the key to an activity that brings you extra luck.

BBC Radio 2 stars announces huge move as she’s snapped up by rival station

A BELOVED star of BBC Radio 2 has announced a huge move as she’s snapped up by a rival station.

Gaby Roslin will soon be joining Magic Radio to host a new weekend show, with the blonde beauty ditching the BBC and seemingly subtly snubbing her old radio station.

Gaby is now set to depart BBC Radio 2 after a brief stint

Gaby previously covered shifts on Breakfast at BBC Radio 2, with her famously filling in for Zoe Ball last summer.

Over the years, Gaby has appeared on several BBC Radio shows, with her often sitting in for famous faces who were absent.

In 2009 she sat in for Alan Carr on BBC Radio 2, with her also known for covering Vanessa Feltz and JoAnne Good on BBC Radio London.

In 2010, Gaby permanently replaced JoAnne as co-host of the BBC London 94.9 breakfast show and remained until January 2013.

She was then given her own weekly Saturday show, live from noon until 2pm, in January 2013, and a year later, she was moved to an extended Sunday afternoon show.

Gaby has also worked at Virgin Radio in the past when she filled in for Chris Evans.

But now the 60-year-old star is taking on a brand new project, with her gearing up to host a brand new show on Magic.

Saturday, January 25, will be Gaby’s first day at the iconic radio brand, with her set to present the 10am to 1pm show.

“I am so excited to finally be able to share the news that I’m joining the Magic Radio family,” she said, adding, “Literally an opportunity that couldn’t be missed.”

She went on to gush: “How lucky am I that I get to spend Saturday mornings with the fabulous Magic Radio listeners – finding out how everyone plans to spend their weekend and spending some time with them at the start of the best two days of the week.”

She also took to Instagram in a joint post with Magic FM, which sparked chatter from Gaby’s fans.

Many fans of the TV and radio star were quick to congratulate her, although others questioned if this was really the end of her Radio 2 journey at the BBC – with Gaby seemingly snubbing her old gig.

One fan asked: “Does that mean no more cover on R2?” to which she responded: “Hope you enjoy listening to @magicfm.”

She then snubbed Radio 2 again when another fan asked: “Congratulations. Does that mean you won’t be on Radio 2 anymore?” and she replied with: “Hope you enjoy the show.”

Other fans were overjoyed with Gaby’s new job, with one writing: “Yay! That’s a great match!! Xx.”

Another then said: “Congratulations @gabyroslin! She’s been at the top of her game for over 30 years!

Fellow radio legend Zoe Ball then said: “Go girl xxxx,” underneath the announcement post.

Magic Radio Content Director Paul Sylvester said of Gaby joining the team: “Gaby is one of Britain’s best broadcasters and we’re delighted to be able to announce today that she’s joining the Magic family.

“Alongside our current much-loved on-air team, and with Gok Wan, Nicki Chapman and Mel Giedroyc, also joining us in January, 2025 is set to be an exciting year for the station with much more to come.”

This comes after a huge shakeup was announced for BBC Radio 6 after a fan favourite presenter quit and announced an exciting new project today.

Today, Lauren Laverne announced she would be stepping down from BBC Radio 6’s Music Breakfast Show after six years.

On Instagram she confirmed: “I will be moving to mid mornings and the wonderful @maryannehobbs_ will start a new show later this spring.

“These transitions are always more emotional than you’d imagine they might be, and for me that is very much about the incredible team in pic 2 – who made it such a joy to host the breakfast show every day for the past six years,” she continued.
