Why Dream Team managers should prioritise Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal players for the next month
DREAM TEAM managers need to stay alert at this time of year.
The upcoming Gameweeks will not only feature fixtures from both domestic cups alongside the bread and butter of the Premier League but the resumption of the Champions League and Europa League league phases as well.
It’s a busy time of year for Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal[/caption]There will be plenty of points on offer in the next month or so but only if gaffers stay on top of the schedule.
With this in mind, it’s important to note that Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are the only three teams with EIGHT games to fulfil across the next four Gameweeks.
These three clubs being the only ones involved in the Carabao Cup semi-finals as well as the European competitions.
LIVERPOOL’S UPCOMING FIXTURES
- GW19: Accrington Stanley (h), Nottingham Forest (a)
- GW20: Brentford (a), Lille (h)
- GW21: Ipswich (h), PSV (a)
- GW22: Bournemouth (a), Spurs (h)
ARSENAL’S UPCOMING FIXTURES
- GW19: Manchester United (h), Spurs (h)
- GW20: Aston Villa (a), Dinamo Zagreb (h)
- GW21: Wolves (a), Girona (a)
- GW22: Manchester City (h), Newcastle (a)
TOTTENHAM’S UPCOMING FIXTURES
- GW19: Tamworth (a), Arsenal (a)
- GW20: Everton (a), Hoffenheim (a)
- GW21: Leicester (h), Elfsborg (h)
- GW22: Brentford (a), Liverpool (a)
There are several factors to consider when making transfers but it’s simply true that more fixtures equals more point-scoring opportunities.
Cole Palmer (£6.1m) is one of the standout performers of the season with a mega average of 10.4 points-per-game but he will have a maximum of five outings in the same stretch that will see Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs will play eight times each.
This is not to say backers of Chelsea’s talisman should rush to ditch him but Dream Team bosses should ensure the fixture deficit doesn’t get out of hand.
Alexander Isak (£5.9m), Bryan Mbeumo (£4.5m) and Anthony Gordon (£5m) are other popular players in fine form who may suffer when the European competitions resume later this month.
Palmer owners will have a big decision to make in Gameweek 20[/caption]On the surface, it might seem there’s little difference between three Stamford Bridge residents and three Spurs assets but if all six players appeared in every available fixture between the start of Gameweek 19 and the end of Gameweek 22, that’s a disparity of nine games in favour of the North Londoners, which could equate to a significant points swing!
That being said, this is only theory.
In reality, it’s likely Arne Slot, Mikel Arteta and Ange Postecoglou will rotate their squads throughout this busy period to some degree at least.
For starters, second-string outfits from Liverpool and Spurs should be expected against Accrington Stanley and Tamworth in the FA Cup third round this weekend.
But the point being there are healthy returns to be had if gaffers can identify which form players are about to experience an increased workload.

Users of popular Android phone offered free battery replacement after ‘vampire’ update – check if you’re eligible
THE owners of a particular Android phone have been offered a free battery replacement following a new update.
The Android 13 update is expected to degrade how long the device holds its charge, meaning customers will experience a shorter battery life once it’s installed.
It is an automatic update, rolling out on 8 January, so consumers are unable to avoid it.
Google has emailed device owners who may be affected, according to a report from Ars Technica.
The handset that will be impacted is the Pixel 4A, an affordable Pixel model released in 2020.
In a new help page, titled “Pixel 4a Battery Performance Program”, Google wrote that it had noticed issues with “some” Pixel 4A devices.
“From January 8, 2025, Pixel 4a devices will receive an automatic software update to Android 13,” the company wrote.
“For some devices (“Impacted Devices”), the update includes new battery management features to improve the stability of your battery’s performance, so the battery may last for shorter periods between charges.”
Pixel 4A owners may also notice their device taking longer to reach a full charge, or changes to how the battery-level indicator on their phone shows its capacity.
Google added: “We want our customers to have the best possible experience with their products, so users of these Impacted Devices are eligible for an appeasement from Google.”
This “appeasement” includes a free battery swap, $50 (£40) in cash or $100 (£80) to put towards another Pixel phone in the Google Store.
However, not everyone is eligible.
“Not all Pixel 4a devices are impacted by the reduction in battery capacity and charging performance,” Google wrote.
“Therefore if your device is not impacted the battery will perform the same as before, and you will not be eligible for an appeasement.”
Pixel 4A owners can enter their IMEI number on this page to find out if theirs is affected.
To find your IMEI number, simply open Settings > tap About phone > find IMEI.
Google hasn’t outlined what is behind the issue.
Although, The Verge has likened the scenario to Apple’s “batterygate”, which resulted in an £853 million lawsuit.

Tiny Welsh ‘lovers island’ that couples flock to for Valentine’s, with dolphins and whales offshore & wild ponies
THERE’S a tiny tidal island in the UK couples often visit on Valentine’s Day because of its ties to a patron saint of love.
Dubbed ‘Lovers Island’, Llanddwyn Island (Ynys Llanddwyn) is located off the coast of Anglesey and can only be reached at low tide when a path emerges in the sand.
Llanddwyn Island has been dubbed ‘lovers island’ because of its ties to Saint Dwynwen[/caption] Located off the coast of Anglesey, the island can only be reached at low tide when a path emerges in the sand[/caption]The tidal island is primarily known for its ties to Saint Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of love.
Several legends describe Saint Dwynwen as being unlucky in love, with her lover, Maelon Dafodrill, being deemed unsuitable as a partner.
Instead, her father arranged a marriage to another prince, leaving Dwynwen heartbroken.
Broken-hearted, Dwynwen then met an angel in her dreams and was granted a series of wishes where she asked God to meet the hopes of lovers everywhere.
Never marrying, she fled to Llanddwyn Island where she became a nun and made thousands of love stories come true.
While the island is uninhabited, locals and visitors alike flock there because of its romantic origins.
Charlotte Hawksworth, senior reserve manager at Natural Resources Wales, told the BBC: “The increase in visitors is a testament to there being a story worth telling.
“You could say this is the ‘Welshest’ part of Wales and people are very proud of that.
“Dwynwen’s story has been embellished through the years, but it’s one ingrained in our local identity. The potency of Llanddwyn is clear to anyone who visits.“
The Welsh island is often visited by people who are unlucky in love, with many flocking to the island on January 25 – the Welsh equivalent of Valentine’s Day.
Others choose to renew their wedding vows on the same day.
Despite being uninhabited, there are several landmarks and buildings on the island for visitors to explore.
One of those is a bare cross that’s dedicated to Saint Dwynwen.
Visitors to Llanddwyn Island will also find the ruins of St Dwynwen’s Church, a lighthouse (Tŵr Mawr), and Pilot’s Cottages, which have been converted into a small museum and visitor centre.
Looking back towards the mainland, the Welsh island has sweeping views over Caernarfon Bay and Snowdonia.
Back on Anglesey, there’s also Llanddwyn Beach, which is backed by Newborough National Nature Reserve and Forest, meaning the tall forest trees line the beach.
Wild ponies are used to manage the grass of Newborough National Nature Reserve and Forest, with some even found on Llanddwyn Island.
From the Welsh island, some visitors have even claimed to have spotted bottlenose dolphins and the occasional Minke Whale when the water is calm.
Traeth Llanddwyn is a Blue Flag that’s home to more than 3.5 miles of golden sand and crystal-clear waters.
While there aren’t lifeguards, there are free toilets, as well as BBQ areas, picnic benches and food trucks in the summer.
Two other little-known islands to visit in the UK
HERE are two other little-known islands to visit in the UK.
The Isle of Erraid, Scotland
The tiny Inner Hebridean Isle of Erraid is a tidal island, just off the tip of the Ross of Mull.
For an hour or two either side of low tide, the Isle of Erraid is linked to the mainland by a broad expanse of sand that you can cross.
But Erraid’s major claim to fame is its inspiration for the famous novel Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Erraid is one of the driest and sunniest places in Scotland, with less than 1,000 millimetres of rain and 1,350 hours of sunshine annually, so you’re virtually guaranteed great days out on the beach.
Unst, Scotland
Unst is roughly 178 miles away from the Scottish mainland.
There are thought to be just 600 people living on the tiny island, making it the most northerly inhabited place in the UK.
Unst has just one pub, one hotel, one school, three shops and a lone bus route.
Skaw Beach, the most northerly in the UK, is packed with golden sand, and it’s backed by a meadow that’s home to an array of wild flowers in the spring and summer.
Because of its shape, the beach is fairly sheltered from the winds.
There are limited facilities at the beach, so holidaymakers should aim to pack everything they need before visiting.
Despite its remote location, around 100 people have reviewed the beach on Google, with one person writing: “Wild and wooly, with nobody around. The water was freezing, as you would expect.”
It’s also a haven for birds including corncrake, lapwing, peregrine, hen harriers and sandpipers and you’ll also see plenty of deer, hedgehogs and Black Face sheep.
Osea Island is a tiny private island where all of the celebs go, with A-listers including Rihanna, Stormzy, and Jude Law staying over the years.
Often dubbed the “English Necker Island” most of the famous faces visit for the recording studio – although tourists can book overnight stays on part of the island.
