Marcus Rashford to AC Milan transfer update with two stumbling blocks and former team-mate pushing for Man Utd star
MARCUS RASHFORD’s move to AC Milan has been hit by two stumbling blocks.
The Manchester United star wants out of the club this month after struggling for form.
Marcus Rashford faces two stumbling blocks to join AC Milan[/caption] Zlatan Ibrahimovic pushing for Rashford to join[/caption] AC Milan will need to sell Noah Okafor before bringing in Rashford[/caption]Rashford, 27, has not featured in any of the Red Devils last six matches under manager Ruben Amorim.
AC Milan are one club keen on bringing the 60-capped England international to the San Siro.
The forward’s former team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic is pushing for the move.
The legendary Swede played with Rashford during his 19-month stay at Old Trafford between 2016 and 2018.
However, there are two stumbling blocks that could pour cold water on the deal.
The Rossoneri will need to sell Noah Okafor before a deal with Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig is thought to be close.
Another issue is Rashford’s mega-wages that he is currently on at Manchester United.
The club are currently paying him a whopping £325,000-per-week.

Therefore, the Red Devils will have to pay half of his wages to facilitate a move to Italy.
This means the club would still be paying him £162,500 a week while he plays with AC Milan.
Why Rashford joining Arsenal is perfect fit
MARCUS RASHFORD is at a crossroads.
But now the England star has to make the biggest choice he has ever faced – does he care about cash, or about his career?
Rashford’s shock admission that he is “ready for a new challenge” after some two decades under the Manchester United umbrella has altered the dynamic around his future.
That Rashford might not fit the blueprint of Ruben Amorim – who has now responded to Rashford’s comments – was not exactly a surprise.
The Portuguese coach prefers a 3-4-3 formation but appears to have settled on Rasmus Hojlund as his starting central striker and wants two “narrow” inside forwards, with the width coming from the wing-backs.
Rashford has always wanted to play through the middle but is often at his best exploiting spaces out wide – and that skillset does not necessarily suit the way Amorim wants to play.
Even so, going public with his evident dissatisfaction at being bombed entirely from the squad for the Manchester derby was a major move, even if he vowed there would be “no hard feelings” if he does leave his boyhood club.
In truth, Rashford has been leaving United almost from the moment he signed that new £325,000 per week contract in 2023.
Something was broken in his connection to the club. His form dropped, his threat dissipated, his issues with the hierarchy deepened.
When Erik ten Hag dropped him for hosting a birthday party after a derby defeat, and he later pulled a sickie to miss the FA Cup game with Newport, it felt even then that the writing was on the wall.
The facts suggest the love affair has ended. After scoring 30 in all competitions to earn that new deal, he has scored just 15 in the 18 months since it was signed.
Amorim’s arrival seems merely to have accelerated what was increasingly inevitable.
Now, though, it is up to Rashford to determine what his future will bring.
If it is only about the money, then his options might be somewhat limited.
It is hard to see a Prem rival coughing up the same £16.9m annual salary – although Rashford’s comments have probably knocked £20m-plus off any transfer fee.
But Real Madrid have their fill of big-money strikers and Barcelona’s budget remains restricted by LaLiga financial controls.
In Europe, then, that probably leaves PSG – but a move to a one-club league.
Or, in the wider world, he could follow the likes of Ivan Toney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Roberto Firmino and Co and head to the Saudi desert.
Lucrative, yep. Certainly a different environment – and that may be exactly what Rashford both wants and needs. But the football? Not in a million years.
What Rashford needs, above all, is to be able to play for trophies and showcase his talents.
There is no better stage than the Premier League – which has far more global eyeballs on it than any other domestic competition.
And in that Premier League there is one club crying out for a goalscoring No 9, especially if he can also play down the left channel to balance out the side and widen its threat.
Rashford has always been more Longsight than London.
Yet Arsenal, and Mikel Arteta, might be the perfect fit.
The Gunners’ lack of a proper scorer is one of the major factors many fans feel has hurt their title challenge this year.
Gabriel Jesus has never been a natural finisher, while Kai Havertz is still a converted midfielder.
And while the link-up between Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka makes their right flank deadly, faith in Gabriel Martinelli on the left is waning.
There have not been too many who succeeded at Arsenal after leaving United – although Danny Welbeck was not a flop.
Rashford has all the attributes to change that history, if he can reproduce what everybody knows is inside him.
And by breaking free, giving himself the chance to start all over, Rashford can make a point to Amorim that will resonate for a very long time.
Rashford scored four goals and assisted one more in his 14 Premier League appearances this season.
His agent and brother Dwaine has flown to Italy to meet the AC Milan recruitment team and has held exploratory talks.
Rashford is still expected to explore his other options with multiple clubs keen on his services.
In the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be plotting a shock loan move.
German giants Borussia Dortmund are also keen on him and are willing to battle for his signature.

England rugby star Tom Voyce’s car found submerged in 7ft of water after it was swept away during storm, inquest told
TRAGIC England rugby star Tom Voyce’s car was found in 7ft of water after it was swept away during a storm, an inquest heard.
The 43-year-old was attempting to cross Abberwick Ford in Northumberland when the horror unfolded.
Tom Voyce was found dead after his car was swept away during a storm[/caption]A huge search was launched for the former England international but his body was tragically discovered five days later.
An inquest heard today his car was found unoccupied submerged in 7ft of water in December after Storm Darragh swept the UK.
The coroner said Voyce was last seen on December 7 at around 11.45pm when he left the Queen‘s Head pub in Glanton.
His wife Anna reported him missing the next morning when she realised he had not returned home.
Worried family and friends joined the search effort alongside specialist police divers trawling the swollen River Aln.
Voyce’s body was discovered in “deep water” on December 12 by a member of UK Search and Rescue at Old Abberwick Mill.
Northumberland coroner Andrew Hetherington adjourned the full inquest until April 1.
Paying tribute, Voyce’s wife Anna said previously: “Absolutely devastated and heartbroken doesn’t even describe how we feel.
“My main focus now is our son Oscar having done what he asked, ‘find Daddy’.
“Oscar is immensely proud of his Daddy and he was the best father and role model that Oscar could have asked for.
“Tom was proud, and cherished, his rugby memories and as an adopted ‘Northumbrian’ local he leaves a hole in so many of our hearts.”
Mike Tindall also paid tribute to his former England teammate and “incredible” friend in a statement shared by The Good The Bad & The Rugby podcast.
He wrote: “He epitomised rugby as a game for all shapes and sizes, punching well above his weight.
“His ability to break tackles and his durability were exceptional. He was a great character off the pitch.”
While fellow former England star James Haskell said Voyce was “a teammate, a friend and an incredible player”.
He added: “He will be sorely missed by everybody.”
Ex-wing Voyce won nine caps for England and played for Bath, London Wasps and Gloucester during a successful career.
His six years at Wasps included winning European and domestic titles.
Voyce made a total of 220 Premiership appearances before retiring in May 2013.

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG has opened up on the terrifying night that he was burgled at gunpoint.
On August 28, 2022, the striker was at his Barcelona home alongside wife Alysha, kids Curtys and Pierre, and his cousin and her boyfriend.
Aubameyang’s young family were present at the time of the robbery[/caption]During the evening, armed men burst into the house.
Speaking to The Athletic, Aubameyang relived the awful ordeal.
He said: “My eldest son came running and said to me, ‘Dad, some guys are in the house’. I said, ‘Just hide’.
“They came in from outside, where my wife was smoking with my cousin and her boyfriend. They took him (the cousin’s boyfriend) and came into the house. My wife was screaming. They had a gun.”
Aubameyang then described telling his family to hide, before trying to confront the intruders.
After attempting to reason with one of them, the striker was punched by a man wearing gloves with metal in them.
When the intruders took his children and sister-in-law, Aubameyang co-operated and gave them what they wanted – including jewellery and watches.
While he and his family came out physically unscathed, the robbery left a psychological effect.

Just days later Aubameyang left Barcelona for Chelsea, amid the Catalan side’s financial woes.
During his Blues debut the following week, the forward wore a face mask due to the injuries he sustained during the robbery.
On the lasting effects of that night, he continued: “If I was alone, no problem, I can handle it, as mentally I’ve been prepared for everything in life, thanks to my parents. But when you have a wife and kids, it’s different.
“After that, the kids told me, ‘Papa, I don’t want to go to school, I’m scared something is going to happen there’. For a year my little one said, ‘I cannot sleep alone’. It was a big struggle. You have it always in the mind.”
Aubameyang struggled to produce his best form at Stamford Bridge, and was largely frozen out under Graham Potter and Frank Lampard, amid the club’s bloated squad.
Reflecting on that season, post-burglary, he said: “I was always thinking about this. I did so many nights like this: not sleeping at all, just thinking about that s***. You have some nightmares.
‘THEY ARE SCARED’
“I’m a guy who, if I’m not sleeping well, I’m not going to give what you expect from me, I’m not going to be at my best… Every time the kids are alone, they are scared.”
Aubameyang went on to express his regret at not speaking to anyone about his trauma from that night, calling it a “mistake”.
He also revealed that he still owns his house in Barcelona, but has never gone back.
Following his year at Chelsea, Aubameyang signed for Marseille, where he re-found his mojo.
After netting 30 goals in all competitions, the Gabon star left European football behind to sign for newly-promoted Saudi side Al-Qadsiah, where he plays alongside former Real Madrid defender Nacho.
Aubameyang cites “safety” as a key reason for moving to the Saudi Pro League – and has since inspired his team to third place with six goals in 12 games.
