The Traitors fans uncover MAJOR mistake in hit BBC show as they beg for format shakeup
VIEWERS of The Traitors have uncovered a major mistake in the hit BBC show as they call for a format shakeup.
Last week, The Traitors returned for the third-ever series of the popular show hosted by Claudia Winkleman, and now fans have spotted a flaw in the format of the show.
Viewers of The Traitors have uncovered a flaw with the breakfast routine the contestants have[/caption] The contestants sit down for breakfast as they work out who has been murdered[/caption] The Traitors series three kicked off last week[/caption]In the series, 22 strangers are moved into a lavish castle in the Scottish Highlands to complete a series of challenges and missions together as a team.
There is a huge catch though, because among the Faithful contestants hoping to win a cash prize of up to £120,000 are a group of Traitors who are there to sabotage the game, kill off the Faithful, and take home the cash.
With the Traitors picked and the Faithfuls confirmed, the game really got going in the third episode last week when a Traitor was figured out.
During this week’s first episode, which aired tonight (Wednesday, January 8), viewers were quick to uncover a huge mistake within the format of the show.
In every episode, once the Traitors have murdered a Faithful, all of the contestants arrive at the castle’s dining room for breakfast.
Arriving in small groups of two or three, it seems that the Traitors all arrive early on so they can see the reactions of everyone else as they figure out who was murdered.
Uncovering this huge flaw in the format, fans took to X to discuss.
“The last 2 that come through the door at breakfast are obviously Faithfuls. The Traitors usually have 3 names and for suspense they keep them until the last to enter at breakfast.
“I am surprised no one has ever mentioned this,” penned one person.
Another echoed: “If the Traitors just made a list of the last group to breakfast each day, they’d be able to work out who all the Faithfuls are.”
EASY WAY TO SPOT THE FAITHFUL PLAYERS
A third person then added: “What I do not get is if the Faithful used half their brains…. The last three back to Breakfast are all faithful as they are the ones who could be killed… So clearly they can tell Freddie isn’t one but…. They ignore this as always…”
While a fourth begged: “They really need to stop making the last two who turn up to breakfast, Faithfuls.”
And a fifth said: “There’s an easy way to work out who is/isn’t a Traitor – if someone is one if the final group to come into breakfast then they’re a Faithful.
“If someone never is in that group, they might be a Traitor. Do the contestants really not cotton onto this?”
How does The Traitors work and who hosts it?
The Traitors first launched in the UK in 2022, after the Dutch format was acquired by the BBC.
Claudia Winkleman is the show’s host, and has now hosted all three series to date.
How does it work?
It is a reality game show that involves 22 contestants, and some of them are chosen to be The Traitors.
The Traitors sees a group of contestants taking part in “the ultimate game of truth and deception”.
The group of contestants are competing for the chance to walk away with a huge cash prize.
While navigating through a series of challenges, the team are also tasked with figuring out who the Traitors are in the group (usually three contestants).
Each night, the Traitors gather to “eliminate” one of the Faithful, removing them from the competition
Meanwhile, the traitors can be “banished” if they’re successfully outed as a traitor by a faithful.
The winners of the show are either the Traitor who remains undetected or the Faithfuls if they successfully eliminate all the Traitors.
The prize sees the winner could get £120K.
While a sixth person begged for a format shakeup when they said: “The whole breakfast routine is insufferable. Just bring them all in at the same time and let them figure out who is gone.”
FOURTH EPISODE OF THE SERIES
In tonight’s episode, the three contestants who were chucked off the train in the first episode came back.
Fozia, Jack, and Alexander were brought back and put into cages hanging in the air for a trial.
The cast then had to gather coins in the woods to lower the cages and free the train people – but there was a twist because they could only choose two.
Sadly, Jack wasn’t picked so had to go home.
Each train person saved – Fozia and Alexander – could then gift a shield to someone.

FOOD prices are set to rise another 4.2 per cent — with Greggs already raising the cost of its sausage rolls.
The return of punishing inflation — after the Budget’s business tax hike — will put another squeeze on Brits, with experts saying “there’s little hope of prices going anywhere but up”.
Food prices are set to rise by another 4.2 per cent after the Budget’s business tax hike[/caption]The British Retail Consortium said while clothing, homeware and electric retailers had discounted heavily before Christmas to revive sales, the brief period of deflation is ending.
It warned: “Non-food will return firmly to inflation.”
And the BRC said chats with retail bosses “suggest food prices will rise an average 4.2 per cent in the latter half of the year”.
Bakery chain Greggs has already outraged customers by hiking its sausage rolls again — up from £1.25 to £1.30. Coffee has also risen 10p to £1.70.
Two years ago, its popular porky pastries were just £1.
Retired quality control inspector Linda Johnson, 74, said: “It’s now £3.90 for four sausage rolls. I wouldn’t pay that, I’d tell them to stick it. The whole point of Greggs is that it’s cheap.”
In November, Greggs boss Roisin Currie said the chain was facing a hit of “tens of millions” of pounds in extra staffing costs.
Employers’ National Insurance Contributions are set to rise in April, as is the minimum wage.
Greggs in numbers
Did you know Greggs sausage rolls have 96 layers of pastry?
The first Greggs opened in 1951 on Gosforth High Street.
There are also 2,473 shops around the country — a thousand more than McDonald’s.
Greggs is now valued at £2.6billion thanks to its budget deals.
Nearly £2 in every £100 spent in UK hospitality is done in a Greggs.
Newcastle still remains the sausage roll capital of the UK, with Geordies scoffing 17.9 million of them a year.

The mechanic said: “People have been making comments like ‘well done Luke’.
But Chris, of Bradford, said: “I’m dreadful at darts. I hit the wall more than the dartboard.”
Girlfriend Sarah Marshall, 31, triggered an online flurry when she posted a video of him watching the 17-year-old darts ace in the World Darts Championship at Ally Pally.
She added the jokey comment: “How is Luke Littler on my TV and sat in my living room?”
Her video has been watched an incredible three millions times and had 250,000 likes.
Operational support manager Sarah, of Bradford, West Yorkshire, said: “When Littler was in the final last year I thought Christopher looked like him.
“He pulls the same expressions as Luke and when Christopher used to play rugby his walk off the pitch was exactly the same when Luke’s walking back from his darts – the similarities are there.
“They’ve got a similar hairstyle too and when he shakes his head, it’s so similar, although Christopher doesn’t see it at all.”
Littler made history when he became the youngest ever World Darts Champion by beating Michael van Gerwen last Friday.
Patients told to attend A&E alone as health boss says flu peak is yet to come
PATIENTS have been told to go to A&E alone, as one of England’s chief doctors warns the peak of the flu outbreak is still to come.
Some hospitals have urged people to leave relatives at home to stop viruses spreading.
The flu surge has put pressure on ambulance services, with at least a dozen hospitals nationwide having declared critical incidents[/caption]And NHS England’s director of emergency care Prof Julian Redhead warned that cases could continue to rise.
He added: “It’s too early to say it has definitively peaked.
“I hope there’s a peak in the next one-to-two weeks. Wards are now full.”
The flu surge has put pressure on ambulance services. And at least a dozen hospitals nationwide have declared critical incidents.
Dr Ed Smith, at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals, said: “Emergency departments may have limited places to sit.
“If patients attend alone, this will free up much needed space for patients.”
Derriford Hospital in Plymouth made the same plea to its patients.
Figures show around 5,000 people were in hospital with flu at the end of 2024 — and data today is set to show a further rise.
GP Annie Farrell said: “If someone needs to go to hospital, we’re potentially sentencing them to 24 hours in a waiting room.”
It comes as scenes of crowded hospitals in China stoked fears of the next Covid with cases of little-known winter virus hMPV surging.
But the World Health Organisation said hMPV was still at normal levels.
hMPV Q&A
WHAT is hMPV?
The virus causes tiredness, a cough, runny nose and aches. It’s often mild and disappears in a week of rest. People with weakened immune systems may need medical help.
Is it in the UK?
Yes, it has been circulating for decades. Five per cent of people tested for respiratory infections have hMPV, compared to 30 per cent for flu.
Should we worry?
No, most people have had it already and developed some immunity to it. There is no evidence of hMPV mutating to be more dangerous.
