Radio 1 star brands Dean McCullough ‘a snake’ after he snubs colleague for Coleen Rooney
RADIO 1 star Greg James has branded Dean McCullough ‘a snake’ after he snubbed their colleague Melvin Odoom for Coleen Rooney.
The first episode of I’m A Celebrity saw Dean, Tulisa, Danny Jones, Jane Moore and Oti Mabuse jump out of a helicopter – and then pick one of the other famous faces to team up with them.

When Dean had to pick between Melvin and Coleen – he apologised to his fellow BBC radio star and went with the wag instead.
Dean said: “Melvin I’m so, so sorry, but… Wagatha Christie, you’re coming with me!”
Greg was very confused over his choice, asking on his Instagram story: “Urrrm Dean didn’t pick Melvin?!”
He then shared a picture of boxer Barry with a snake and wrote: “They should send Dean in as one of the snakes after that behaviour.”
Greg wasn’t the only one in shock.
A viewer wrote on X: “did dean really not pick melvin ???”
Another chimed in: “Wait. Dean didn’t pick Melvin?? The teams at Radio 1 must be FUMING.”
“Melvin when Dean didn’t pick him,” a third tweeted with a pic of Big Brother star Lily looking upset.
Dean has presented the Radio 1 afternoon show since 2022.
The star filled in for Clara Amfo on BBC Radio 1 in December 2020, before being offered the chance to present the early breakfast show on Fridays for four weeks.
Eventually, he replaced Jordan North in hosting the station’s 10:30 to 13:00 slot.
Meanwhile Melvin, Rickie Haywood-Williams and Charlie Hedges moved to Radio 1 in 2019 after presenting Kiss Breakfast.
They started off presenting the late show between 9 to 11 pm Monday to Thursday, but since 2021, they are on between 10:30 – 12:45.
Dean will be taking part in tonight’s trial.
The presenter received the highest public votes to take on the Sinister Sarcophagus challenge in a bid to win stars for camp.
And he will be left screaming his head off as he is covered in creepy crawlies in tonight’s episode.

As soon as anime fans see a character fitting the ‘foe-turned-friend’ archetype paired up with edginess, they are instantly reminded of Vegeta from the Dragon Ball series. Most fans believed Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho to be inspired by Vegeta as well, as both of them had similar character arcs and the comparison is understandable. […]

Evangelos Marinakis in talks to buy new club with major role for Edu and two Premier League cult heroes already there

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is in talks to buy a controlling stake of Vasco da Gama[/caption]The Greek billionaire appears to be building his own global multi-club group as he’s long been linked with a takeover of Serie A’s Monza as well.
According to The Telegraph, the businessman is now looking to add esteemed Brazilian outfit Vasco da Gama.
And that will likely lead to a key role for former Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar.
Edu resigned from the Emirates earlier this month after five successful years with the Gunners as he helped the team turn back into Premier League title contenders.
The Brazilian chief has linked up with Marinakis and is expected to take over an unspecified role that would see him being in charge of Forest, Olympiacos and Rio Ave.
If the ship owner, who saw Olympiacos becoming the first ever Greek European cup winners, is also successful in his bid for Vasco da Gama then Edu is also expected to be in charge of the Rio de Janeiro club.
The Brazilian outfit was previously controlled by 777 Partners before their financial model collapsed earlier this year.
The group is now under the control of US insurance giant A-Cap and the clubs are being sold.

Rafael Paiva’s side includes the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Dimitri Payet.
Ex-Liverpool star Coutinho plays on loan from Aston Villa and West Ham hero Dimitri Payet joined from Marseille this year.
