Israel offering over £240m for safe return of hostages still held by Hamas
ISRAEL is offering more than £240million for the safe return of hostages still held by Hamas.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Palestinians in Gaza who helped his forces recover the 65 or so captives would be paid $5million — £3.9million — for each one safely returned.
Mr Netanyahu made the offer in a visit to the Strip with new defence minister Israel Katz.
He said: “Whoever brings us a hostage will find a safe way out for himself and his family.
“We’ll also give $5million for every hostage.”
But he also issued a warning to those still keeping the men, women and children captive more than a year after 251 were snatched in the October 7 massacre.
He said: “Whoever dares to harm our hostages will pay the price
“We will pursue you and we will find you.”
During the visit to the Strip on Tuesday Mr Netanyahu insisted that Hamas would not be allowed to govern in Gaza once the conflict is over.
He said: “We are destroying its military capabilities in a very impressive manner, and we are moving on to its ruling capabilities. Hamas will not be in Gaza.
“Israel is also doing everything it can to locate our hostages, and return them.
“We are not letting up. We will continue to do so until we get them all — both the living and the dead.”

MAURA Higgins has made her grand entrance into the I’m A Celeb jungle and fans have been left saying “cue the drama”.
The Love Island superstar finally put rumours of her appearance on the hit ITV show to rest tonight as she emerged on screens at the end of the episode.
The Irish beauty and TV personality Reverend Richard Coles were announced as this year’s late arrivals at the end of the show, leaving viewers in a frenzy.
Maura, 32, who catapulted to fame after appearing on the fifth series of Love Island, is set to join the rest of the cast on tomorrow night’s episode.
However, in a short clip aired tonight, the Longford native was seen preparing herself to head into the jungle.
In a blurry outline, the star applied her makeup in a hotel mirror and fixed her red trousers.
She then picked up the iconic camp hat and came into focus on screens.
Maura immediately expressed her concerns for being a late arrival into the already bonding camp.
She said: “I am absolutely petrified of the eating challenge and the one with the glass around your head with spiders in.
The funny lady joked: “I don’t want to eat testicles on TV.”
Maura added: “Even talking about them, I start to sweat. I am not a nervous person, but this will be hard.
“I am ready to step outside my comfort zone. I hope I do make myself proud and I am both excited but also very nervous, because I am scared of absolutely everything.”
The presenter also admitted she wanted to come out of the series as a “braver Maura”.
Of course, fans of the Irish star all flocked to social media to share their reactions to her arrival.
Dean wrote: “Pop open the champagne Maura Higgins is about to enter the Jungle!
Katie added: “Our queen of the jungle has arrived.”
‘SO EXCITED’
Jade laughed: “Swear Maura was dying to eat testicles on TV in love island.”
While Chloe remarked: “MAURA IS GOING IN THE JUNGLE CUE THE DRAMA.”
Erin commented: “AHHHH I’M so f***ing excited for Maura.”
And Alana exclaimed: “I missed Maura on the TV every night.”

The Sun recently told of how Kim left fans baffled after taking part in a “next-level weird” nighttime photoshoot with Elon Musk’s Tesla Bot.
Posing up a storm with the $30,000 robot and her custom Tesla Model S car, the reality star and fashion mogul, 44, turned heads once again – even going topless for the occasion.
In the snaps, the mother-of-four could be seen rocking stockings and suspenders printed onto some nude tights.
It looked as though Kim had ditched her bra for the occasion, with just a large black bomber jacket covering her breasts.
In one pic, Kim crouched down beside her custom car with the expensive gold bot behind her.
Another showed her holding hands with the robot.
At one point, Kim could even be seen sitting on the robot’s lap.
Fans were quick to comment on the Instagram shoot, which appeared to have taken place on Kim’s driveway.
One wrote: “This is hella f***ing weird.”
A second said: “This is so embarrassing Kim.”
Glastonbury fans ‘work out’ iconic rock band are playing festival after spotting clue in UK tour
GLASTONBURY fans have ‘worked out’ an iconic rock band have bagged a spot in the 2025 line-up.
The group recently embarked on a tour for their latest album.
Music fans think they’ve worked an iconic rock band will perform at Glastonbury[/caption] Amyl and The Sniffers have been together since 2016[/caption] The band’s vocalist Amy Taylor[/caption]Formed in 2016, Amyl and The Sniffers comprises Amy Taylor, Bryce Wilson, Declan Mehrtens and Gus Romer.
Glastonbury ticket holders are adamant the Australian band will be performing there.
One took to Reddit to remark: “Amyl and the Sniffers Glasto-Shaped Hole!”
They shared a screenshot of the group’s upcoming gigs for 2025: May 22, May 23, June 25, July 5 and November 15.
Meanwhile, Glastonbury 2025 will be taking place from June 25 to June 29.
Another Reddit user commented: “I think they are a shoe in (is that the saying?) for it 100%.”
A third added: “That’s awesome. Love them!”
While a fourth simply stated: “Great band.”
The line-up for next year’s festival is yet to be announced.
However, it has been rumoured to include Olivia Rodrigo, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Eminem.
Alanis Morrisette and Simple Minds have also been speculated to be taking to the stage.
Last year’s event saw Coldplay, Dua Lipa and SZA headline the Pyramid Stage.
In addition, the “Queen of Country Pop” Shania Twain took the acclaimed Legends slot.
The annual music festival is known to sell out quickly – as evidenced by this year.
Would-be attendees were left frustrated after coveted Glastonbury tickets sold out in just 37 minutes
Glastonbury 2025 - rumoured acts
THE Glastonbury line-up hasn't been confirmed - despite the fact tickets for the 2025 event sold out in minutes. Here are some rumoured acts.
Basement Jaxx sparked speculation they will be playing at Worthy Fam after leaving a “Glastonbury shaped gap” in their latest tour schedule.
It came after the hit duo announced their first live shows in 10 years – with gig-goers calling out a key “clue” in the order of their concert dates.
Yet acts including Olivia Rodrigo, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Eminem are rumoured to be in the mix.
Canadian songstress Alanis Morrisette and Simple Minds have also been tipped to take to the stage.
The event will run from Wednesday, June 25 to Sunday June 29 for 2025.
Fans quickly grew frustrated upon noticing they were stuck at just “two green bars” with no movement at all – in the new queuing system.
Dgital rights expert, Lauren Hendry Parsons from ExpressVPN, issued a scam warning.
She said: “With hugely popular events such as Glastonbury, people are often making rapid, time-pressured decisions, with high emotions because they don’t want to miss out – and we all know how quickly Glastonbury can sell out.
“Unfortunately, these kinds of rapid-fire, emotionally charged situations are ripe for exploitation.”

DAN FRIEDKIN is on schedule to make many despairing Everton fans’ Christmas wishes come true.
The days are passing fast on his £600million Toffees takeover that will finally see the departure of debunked majority owner Farhad Moshiri, expected by the end of next month.
Everton manager Sean Dyche could face a nervy yuletide[/caption] Dan Friedkin is on the brink of completing the long-awaited takeover[/caption]Whether boss Sean Dyche will be able to mark the Californian’s arrival as a season to be merry or not remains to be seen.
For he is about to start opening the windows on an advent calendar from hell.
By the time he has completed it, any thoughts he might have had of landing a new contract from Friedkin could be mere humbug.
Dyche goes into Saturday’s home clash with Brentford under growing pressure.
The game will signal the end of what Opta stats suggest was the easiest start of this campaign for any Prem club.
Yet in 11 games Everton have scraped together only ten points, with just two wins and ten goals.
And that after kicking off with four defeats in a row to mark their worst league opening in 66 years.
And now comes the hard bit.
FOOTBALL FREE BETS AND SIGN UP DEALS
Following the visit of the Bees is a trip to Old Trafford a week on Sunday in what will be Ruben Amorim’s first home league game as Manchester United’s new manager.
Wolves at Goodison follows on December 4 before resurgent title leaders Liverpool come calling in the Merseyside derby three days later.
It is not liable to get any easier, either, with Arsenal at the Emirates on December 14, Chelsea on the 22nd then a Boxing Day meeting with reigning champs Manchester City.
Were Dyche and his players still standing after that lot then he would surely deserve backing from incoming chief Friedkin.
But everything points to another winter of discontent among the majority of supporters and a third successive drop battle.
Fans are grateful to the 53-year-old manager for keeping the club up against a backdrop of financial crises and sales of prized playing assets like Anthony Gordon and Amadou Onana.
A year ago Dyche and Co were left reeling by a ten–point penalty, later reduced by two points, over breaches of the Prem’s Profit and Sustainability Rules. Another two points were docked later.
Throughout his near-two-year tenure, Dyche has been swimming against the Mersey tide.
Transfer funds for new players have not even been at the same level as most Championship clubs. And there is appreciation on the Gwladys Street End for his efforts.
But, increasingly, he is facing a revolt over his playing style.
The faithful complain about dull, predictable, long-ball tactics, with striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin — who is refusing to extend his own deal that also expires next summer — as the only attacking option.
If — and it is a big if — Dyche can keep Everton up, do they really want to kick-off Prem life in their new 52,888-seater stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock playing that brand of football?
As the takeover of The Friedkin Group has gained momentum, Dyche has repeatedly sounded off about the problems he has faced.
Everton hope their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium will be ready next year[/caption]He said: “There seems to always be that cloud waiting around Everton Football Club — on or off the pitch.”
Before the 2–1 win over Crystal Palace in September, the ex-Watford and Burnley boss stressed, “Some day the truth will come out,” on how difficult his time in charge has been.
He added: “After all that’s been happening, it would be nice just to talk about football.
“That’s something that’s happened about twice since I got here 21 months ago. I’ve worked hard to correct a lot of things and I think I’ve done a very good job.”
But more and more, Dyche comes across as someone who does not see himself lasting too much longer.
There is also his admission that, despite the mess he has been trying to clean up, “the fans want to see a winning team, no matter what”.
And through no great fault of his own, Dyche has struggled to produce winning teams, having just hit the 550-game mark as a manager.
Brentford’s visit will be his 77th game in charge at Goodison, with just 25 victories.
How many more he gets over the next sequence that ends at the Etihad — by which time Friedkin is likely to be in charge — will almost certainly decide his future.
Dyche, facing that nightmare fixture schedule, may well need a Christmas miracle of his own to survive the entrance of Moshiri’s successor.
Fully restored first edition of iconic Ford motor to be auctioned for huge price after £130k spent on its renovation
A FIRST-edition 1973 Ford Escort Mk1 RS2000, restored to its original glory through a meticulous years-long process, is set to go under the hammer.
The iconic classic, a symbol of 70s motoring, has undergone a £130,000 transformation, making it one of the finest examples of its kind to hit the auction block.

The Ford has undergone a no-expense-spared restoration over the past four years, aimed at bringing the car as close to its original form as possible, using authentic parts and techniques.
The interior is a testament to the car’s heritage, featuring an all-black design with fabric seats and a steering wheel proudly bearing the RS logo.
This attention to detail is matched by the extensive mechanical work performed during the restoration.
The arduous facelift began in 2019 with a full disassembly and meticulous inspection of the car’s bodyshell.
The shell was dipped and repaired before being sent to a specialist e-coating facility to ensure long-lasting protection.
Original parts and NOS (New Old Stock) components were sourced throughout the process to maintain authenticity.
The 2-litre engine, which distinguished the RS2000 from its more high-strung RS1600 sibling, was rebuilt by David Moore Engineering, while the gearbox and rear axle were restored by Copthorne Classics.
The interior was expertly refitted by Mark Webber of M&K Auto Upholstery, restoring the car to its former glory.
By June 2024, the project was 90% complete, with final touches and road preparation carried out by Dave Brooks of DBRS and Copthorne Classics.
The auction, scheduled for December 7 at the Warwickshire Event Centre, is being handled by Iconic Auctioneers.
According to the auction listing, the car’s restoration is “one of the most exacting restorations witnessed and surely the best available.”
A comprehensive file of photographs documents every stage of the restoration, showcasing the exceptional quality of the work.
Despite the immense time, skill, and financial investment poured into the project, a change in the owner’s circumstances has necessitated its sale.
For enthusiasts of classic Ford models, this represents a rare chance to acquire a near-flawless example of a car that has defined generations of motoring.
With bidding expected to start at £80,000, this RS2000 could soon find a new home with a collector who appreciates its history and the craftsmanship behind its transformation.
