As recently as the US Grand Prix, they packed on the PDA as the world champion finished on the podium and edged closer to winning another title.

Dutch champion Verstappen and Piquet have been together for four years[/caption]
Verstappen can now secure his fourth consecutive championship at the Las Vegas Grand Prix this weekend by bettering rival Lando Norris.
Sure to be cheering the Dutchman on from the Red Bull paddock is Brazilian Wag, Kelly.
Love blossomed in 2020 and they soon moved in together in a £13million Monaco mansion overlooking the Med.
SunSport looks at their relationship, from that ‘magical moment’ when they first laid eyes on each other.
Magic moment
In 2016 Verstappen had dinner with Kelly’s brother, Nelson Jr.
The pretty brunette joined them for the occasion in Monaco, which she spoke about to Vogue Netherlands.
He was 19 at the time, while she was 28.
“Max was friends with my brother Nelson and we all went out for dinner in Monaco one night,” she said in an interview with the fashion magazine in 2022.
“That was six years ago, in 2016. But there was already something magical that evening.”
She added: “Our connection started then. And I’ll leave it at that for now.”
However, instead of Max – Kelly began dating Russian driver Daniil Kvyat from 2017.
They had a daughter together called Penelope, but split just two years after getting together.
In 2020, Kelly and Max reconnected and became Instagram official on 2021.
Max shared a photo of the pair together on social media on New Year’s Day.
“Let’s make 2021 a year to remember in many ways,” he captioned the cute snap.
“Wishing you all success, love and happiness just as I found mine.”

Kelly’s thoughts
For her part, Kelly has been very open about her relationship with Max.
In that same interview with Vogue Netherlands she spoke about their nine-year age difference.
“I think we have a very healthy relationship, easygoing, we have a lot of understanding and support for each other,” she said.
“You would think the age difference could be a challenge, but so far things are going really well.
“I also really appreciate how he treats Penelope. It’s so sweet to see.
“He always asks for her, always visits her to say hello when he leaves, and gets her love back. So cute!”
As well as bonding over her daughter, Kelly has grown up around motor racing.
While Verstappen’s dad Jos was an F1 racer from 1994 to 2003.

How they live
For all the snippets they share on Instagram, in the whole Verstappen and Kelly keep their personal life fairly private.
Declarations of love appear on Valentine’s Day, and most recently, when they celebrated four years together.
After their intimate kiss in Texas at the US Grand Prix in October, Kelly took to Instagram to celebrate their anniversary as she posted a bikini picture next to Verstappen, who also soaked up the sun.
She captioned the photo: “4 years and countless happy moments.”
The photo appeared to be taken from the balcony of their £13million Monaco home.
He has shared glimpses of his chic pad, which he and Kelly also share with their Bengal cats.
In his spare time he likes to take to the water on a Red Bull-branded jet ski, said to be worth around £16,000.
For all his travels around the world, Max is said to have bought a private jet from Sir Richard Branson, worth £12million, which costs over £830,000 to maintain.
Max has made sure the Falcon-900EX is customised to his expensive taste – it has a matt finish and has Max’s logo of a lion on the tail fin, paying homage to the national animal of the Netherlands.

As it stands, there is no wedding on the horizon just yet.
Previously, Verstappen has said “time will tell” if he and Piquet are to get married, and he hinted he wasn’t ready yet.
But as a stepdad, Verstappen has excelled and has spoken of the possibility of having children with Piquet.
He told Brazilian journalist Mariana Becker: “At the end of the day, it’s not something you decide. Sometimes it needs to happen.”

BARRY HEARN has revealed that he has not taken a salary in 17 years.
The Matchroom president founded his company in 1982, building empires in boxing, snooker and darts.
Barry Hearn has lifted the lid on his role at Matchroom[/caption]
Hearn, 76, also served as chairman of Leyton Orient between 1995 and 2014.
These days he maintains an advisory role in the business, having handed most of the control to son Eddie.
Discussing his career on The Barry Hearn Show, he admitted: “I retired seventeen years ago.
“I stopped taking the salary seventeen years ago because I don’t need the money and I don’t live that type of life.
“But at the same time, I can’t retire from something that’s been my life.
“And outside of my family, nothing’s more important to me than kids getting their chance, especially, and I’m biased, kids perhaps with the background I had. My dad was a bus driver. My mum was a charlady.
“We didn’t have any money, but we were still happy. But then, when you get into the business element, you get this competitive streak where you want to be number one and be the best.
His son Eddie, 45, is now chairman of Matchroom – but that doesn’t mean that the father-son combo always agree.
He revealed: “I will drive Eddie mad because I’ll pester him and say: ‘Why are we doing this? Why don’t we do that?’
“And a lot of the times, he’ll turn around and say: ‘Dad, different age now. You’re yesterday. I’m tomorrow. Listen to me.’
“I do listen to him and I still sometimes disagree with him – and I’m invariably wrong.
“But I know the business, I’ve led the life, and I can still make a contribution.
“And I hope I’m big enough that when I get to a stage where I can’t make a contribution, I hope I recognise it myself. By the way, I don’t see that bit coming in the near future.”
Speaking to SunSport about the project after completing his latest podcast episode, Barry said: “Everything is a completely open book. It’s going to be fun.
“But I’m frightened to have a bath, mate! Because I get up and go, ‘f***ing, who put this microphone on me?’
“The title is ‘Matchroom: The Greatest Showmen’. It’s going to go out to 500 million homes. They are spending millions and millions.
“The team that are doing it are the ones who did Drive to Survive, so they have a hard act to follow. But they are very excited about it.
“You try to distance yourself from it. It’s a good story. We had Succession, which was almost a take-off of the Murdoch empire.
“Well, we are not at that level but it is a similar theme of an old geezer that starts off something, brings up kids in a different world to what he came from.
“It’s not a power struggle but there are definitely different influences throughout.
“But the company has grown bigger and bigger, it’s a global one rather than a British one. There are a lot of good stories.”

THE Dublin swim spot loved by celebs has gotten a major €20,000 upgrade.
The Forty Foot is a hugely popular swimming spot located at Sandycove in Co. Dublin.
And it has recently got a major upgrade with new outdoor showers[/caption]
DLR Sports Partnership and Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council have announced the opening of new outdoor showers at The Forty Foot bathing area.
The popular spot has recently been made famous on the big screen as a location in Bad Sisters.
In the 2023 documentary film, Bono & The Edge: A Sort of Homecoming, With Dave Letterman, the US TV host visits the location.
It ended up serving as inspiration for the composition of a song by Bono and the Edge called 40 Foot Man featured in the credits of show.
Other top celebs such as Matt Damon and Sam Smith have also visited the spot while in Ireland.
The major €20,000 grant was secured by DLR Sports Partnership through the Healthy Ireland Outdoor Swimming Infrastructure Fund – which is administered by Sport Ireland.
The grant aims to help the National Swimming Strategy and encourage more people to participate in water sports, especially outdoor swimming.
Cllr Jim O’Leary, Cathaoirleach of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, believes the upgraded facility will be a fantastic addition to the iconic Forty Foot location.
He said: “Sea swimming is an integral part of life in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown.
“Even those who don’t or can’t swim themselves enjoy watching other brave souls enter the water for a rejuvenating dip.
“There were no showers in this location, so the upgraded facility will be a great addition to The Forty Foot.”
This new facility will cater to everyone from weekend visitors to long-time locals and swimming clubs – offering a better experience for the thousands who swim here each year.
Sea swimming at The Forty Foot has been a tradition since the 19th century, drawing swimmers of all abilities to enjoy the benefits of the open water.
As part of the project, the previously unused Forty Foot Hut has been fully renovated into the outdoor showers while maintaining the area’s important architectural features.
For more details about the new showers or other sports-related inquiries, you can visit the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership website at www.dlrsportspartnership.ie.
Jellyfish alert for swimmers
This comes after a popular Irish swimming spot has been issued with a major “red alert” after scientists spotted a swarm of rare jellyfish with a “painful sting” in the area.
Lough Hyne in West Cork has seen an influx of Pelagia noctiluca jellyfish – a species commonly known as the Portuguese Man of War.
Scientists from University College Cork identified the creature and noted that it has a very painful sting.
Although the spot is popular among swimmers, visitors have been warned to stay out of the water while they are there.
Swimming in the lough could risk getting a painful sting.
Skiberdeen Heritage Centre took to social media to urge people to spread the word.
Posting on Facebook, they said: “RED ALERT for Lough Hyne!
“UCC scientists have been in touch to say that there is an influx of stinging jellyfish in the Lough (Pelagia noctiluca) and it is not advisable to swim in the lough while they are there as it would be a very painful sting.”
