RYANAIR has threatened to scrap flights from 10 airports in France from next year.
The airline’s commercial officer, Jason McGuinness, has revealed the airline is reviewing its French schedule in response to a proposed tax hike by the French government.

The French government is considering tripling taxes on airline tickets and private jets in a bid to plug a hole in its budget.
Low-cost airline Ryanair has responded to the proposed measure.
In a statement, McGuiness said: “Ryanair is now reviewing its French schedules and expects to cut capacity to/from regional French airports by up to 50 percent from January 2025 if the French government proceeds with its short-sighted plan to triple passenger taxes”.
The tax increase is expected to fall on passengers.
McGuinness added: “The impact of increased passenger taxes will be most damaging for regional France which depends on competitive access cost”.
Ryanair currently operates flights from 22 regional airports in France, including two near Paris, which aren’t thought to be impacted by the measure.
However, it is not yet known which airports will be affected, if the tax hike goes ahead.
Earlier this year, Ryanair pulled its services from Bordeaux Airport in a separate dispute over airport fees.
The news comes after Michael O’Leary, CEO of the budget airline, warned hundreds of UK flights could be scrapped following the recent Labour budget.
In the autumn budget, Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced flights across the continent will now incur £15 of duty charges – increasing it by £2.
As a result of the rise in Air Passenger Duty (APD), holidaymakers planning on heading off to much-loved destinations could soon struggle to book Ryanair flights.
At the time, Ryanair boss Mr O’Leary said the airline would look to cut UK capacity by as much as 10 per cent next year.
This is the equivalent of a reduction of around five million passengers.
He said: “This week’s anti-growth air tax increase shows that Chancellor Rachel Reeves has no clue how to deliver growth in the UK economy.
“This short-sighted tax grab will make air travel much more expensive for ordinary UK families going on holidays abroad and will make the UK a less competitive destination compared to Ireland, Sweden, Hungary and Italy where these Govt’s are abolishing travel taxes to stimulate traffic, tourism, and jobs growth in their economies.
“Reeves has damaged the UK’s growth prospects and made air travel much more expensive for UK families travelling abroad on holidays or to visit friends and family.”
Ryanair has already cut its capacity in Germany in reaction to higher taxes.

I’M A Celebrity’s Danny Jones has left fans astonished after admitting very personal details about him and his McFly bandmates.
Pop star Danny, 38, revealed the jaw-dropping information while casually discussing the weather with his campmates in the jungle.
Addressing that it was too cold and wet to have a shower, the star lifted the lid on an after-show habit he and his bandmates – Tom Fletcher, Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter – sporadically enjoy.
Speaking to DJ Dean McCullough about his close relationship with the McFly lads, he admitted: “We have a communal little shower or bath after a gig, love it.”
A wide-eyed Dean exclaimed: “Sorry, what?! You and the boys have a communal shower after every gig?”
Danny explained: “Not every one – where there’s an option to, we’re always up for a communal shower and a communal bath.”
Dean quipped: “Make sure you set those tickets up for me, I’ll be right there!”
“Let’s hope that’s the gig you go to,” GK teased.
The guitarist went onto share another intimate fact that he has not changed his underwear since arriving in camp.
The first Bushtucker Trial saw Danny and Barry McGuigan buried alive in a bid to win food for camp.
The Voice judge told the others: “I’ve not changed my boxers that I had a snake on…”
Campmate podcaster GK urged: “Before you go back to your wife, you’re gonna need to disinfect!”
The McFly star also left fans bemused after he admitted: “Since it’s rained I’ve not washed.
“Don’t fight it, just stink!
“What do spiders do? They don’t get up and shower, do they?”
“They just go: ‘I’m gonna go out for the day.’”
Oti Mabuse confirmed in the Bush Telegraph: “It’s so cold and it’s so rainy that people are not showering and we are all stinking up that camp right now, it’s disgusting and I smell horrendous!”
Fans commented on social media: “Ewwwww, they’re not showering. That’s gross.”
A second agreed: “Danny, you’ve been in there 3/4 days and had a snake in your pants and you’re still wearing them?”.
A third added in caps: “THAT WAS LIKE 4 DAYS AGO.”
But one person who is definitely keeping clean is Coleen Rooney.
The mum-of-four showed off her amazing figure in a black all in one piece.
Coleen admitted to the cameras: “I am the only one in camp that showers!”
Jones was seen breaking down in tears as he opened up on his 20-year struggle with anxiety.
The McFly star showed his vulnerable side during a chat about tattoos, which soon turned personal.
Opening up further, Danny revealed that he has been in therapy since he was 19 to cope with anxiety.
He also recalled a harrowing experience of having a panic attack on live TV during an interview.
The singer told his campmates: “I was freaking out and I couldn’t answer the question that got asked to me.
“My heart rate goes crazy, I went white, and I felt like I was going to puke.”
The singer faced a brutal trial and a trousersnake[/caption]

Coleen Rooney – Arguably the most famous name in the camp, the leading WAG, known for her marriage to Wayne Rooney, has made a grand return to TV as she looks to put the Wagatha Christie scandal behind her. The Sun revealed the mum-of-four had bagged an eye-watering deal worth over £1.5million to be on the show this year making her the highest-paid contestant ever.
Tulisa – The popstar and former X Factor judge has made her triumphant TV comeback by signing up to this year’s I’m A Celeb after shunning TV shows for many years. Known for being a member of the trio, N-Dubz, Tulisa became a household name back in 2011 when she signed on to replace Cheryl on ITV show The X Factor in a multi-million pound deal.
Alan Halsall – The actor, known for playing the long-running role of Tyrone Dobbs on ITV soap opera Coronation Street, was originally signed up to head Down Under last year but an operation threw his scheduled appearance off-course. Now he has become the latest Corrie star to win over both the viewers and his fellow celebrities.
Melvin Odoom – The Radio DJ has become a regular face on TV screens after rising to fame with presenting roles on Kiss FM, BBC Radio 1 and 4Music. ROB CROSS admits that Luke Littler is looming up behind him in the rankings like Jack Nicholson in The Shining!
The 2018 world champion faces the teen sensation in the Players Championship on Friday in Minehead.

Littler, 17, could overtake Cross in the Order of Merit[/caption]
But Cross, 33, knows he needs to KO Littler to stop him getting overtaken in the Order of Merit. Voltage is No.4 with the Warrington wonderkid up to No.5 after winning the Grand Slam on Sunday.
Cross said: “It’s a tough draw for both of us I would say, certainly this early in the tournament.
“The result in the Grand Prix means absolutely nothing now. Luke will be buzzing that he won the Slam but I think he takes it all in his stride.
“Trouble is now for me he’s like roaring up behind me in the rankings. It feels like Jack Nicholson in The Shining peering through the curtain at me!”
The tie of the round clash has been dubbed the ‘Target derby’ with both players in the same darts stable.
In nine previous meetings, Littler has won seven including the World Championship semi-final in early January. But Cross won their last clash in the Grand Prix.
He added: “The boy is just awesome. I can’t say enough good things about him. He handles himself with such class.
“He wins a tournament, gets all the headlines, but he just strolls in like nothing has happened. He doesn’t get over-excited, he almost deals with it like MVG or Gary Anderson because they’ve won loads.

“We have practised together at times and he’s got all the ability to win whatever he wants in the game.
“He’s got the world at his feet and now he’s just got to stay hungry to keep winning. That motivation will be the key, whether he wants to deal with the constant limelight.
“I had that after I won the Worlds in 2018, that year was a blur with media. But Luke is dealing with it with such ease, it’s scary really!
“It’s my job to beat him. I’ve done it before and I’m confident my game is there. I want more consistency but I know it’s coming.”
6 days agoLatest NewsComments Off on PC gamers grab 80-rated game for free though they wave goodbye to Castlevania
EPIC Games Store is the second biggest platform for PC players behind gaming goliath Steam.
But what Epic has over its competitors is that players can get free games from the storefront every week.
Beholder gives you moral choices to make[/caption]
Do you keep your comfortable life by reporting to the regime?[/caption]
Or do you go against the police and protect your people?[/caption]
The variety of games you can grab weekly varies from triple-A titles like Death Stranding to smaller indies.
Epic Games Store changes the free games every Thursday, and today (November 21) there’s a new game up for grabs.
Last week, players could grab the incredible nine-game Castlevania Anniversary Collection, with some great games from the historic series.
There’s just one game available this week, but it has an 80 rating on review aggregate site Metacritic.
Beholder is a stealth game where you play as a landlord working for a totalitarian government.
You pretend that your apartment building is a safe place for tenants, but it is your job to spy on them and collect evidence of their activity.
However, you still have the choice to stick to your morals and protect your tenants or save yourself by giving out information.
Either way, you will have to lie, cheat and sneak your way through your building to turn in or protect the people who live there.
You can grab Beholder for free and keep it for life if you claim it from the Epic Games Store before Thursday, November 28, 2024.
After that it will be replaced by different free games, though Beholder returns to the free gaming library from time to time.
If you want to grab the game for yourself, you can claim it via the store page on the Epic Games Store website, or directly via the Epic Games Store Launcher.
The launcher is free to download, and you’ll need it in order to play the game, so it’s worth picking up.
Sight to Behold
Beholder is a decent game, but as it’s a few years old now, you’ll often see it up for offer.
Still, if you haven’t picked it up before now, it’s a good chance to put it in your library.
