Love Island winner Liam Reardon shares shocking pictures of swollen face after food poisoning nightmare
LOVE Island winner Liam Reardon has shared a shocking picture of his swollen face after a food poisoning nightmare left him barely able to open his eyes.
The reality star posted a photo of himself holding what appeared to be uncooked chicken, and then a photo of himself looking almost unrecognisable.

The 25-year-old had food poisoning, and explained: “I went to Thailand and I was there for two weeks and was eating all the street food and everything was fine.
“The last three days we booked into a four star hotel and I thought there would be nice food there.
“I had a chicken burger and I bit into it,” to which Millie interjected: “You’d eaten a lot of it I thought.”
Liam went on: “I had a few more bites and I thought this is really slimy, but I just assumed it was the lettuce or tomato or something like that.”
Liam explained that he then looked into the burger to find that it was completely pink inside.
He went on: “It was completely raw.”
The food poisoning incident happening during Millie and Liam’s brief break up.
The Love Island couple, who won the series back in 2021, rekindled their romance in May last year after a year-long break, and since then seem to be going from strength to strength.
In fact, the jetsetters clocked up 10 holidays in 2023.
It had been alleged that the Welshman had been unfaithful at Wireless Festival, an event he claims to have not even attended.
Speaking on their podcast last month, blonde beauty Millie began by saying, “People think that you cheated on me at Wireless Festival.”
Liam responded, “Yeah, yeah,” while Millie continued, “In a toilet. It was this rumour that went around on Twitter. Liam wasn’t even at Wireless, he was with me.”
Clarifying his whereabouts, Liam added, “I was in Wales, wasn’t I?”
Millie then explained how the situation had unfolded: “Yeah, but it’s over two weekends, so one weekend you were with me, and then the other weekend you went back to Wales, and um, obviously like you weren’t even there.
“Someone actually fully fledged made up this rumour, and it went viral, and then you were getting really badly trolled for cheating on me, supposedly.”
Liam echoed her frustration: “Yeah, yeah. So, we had to announce our breakup, which is weird. We announced our breakup on Instagram.
“The next day, some girl made a tweet. She said the reason Liam and Millie broke up was because he was caught having sex in a Portaloo toilet at Wireless Festival, and it had like so many retweets and likes.”
Millie added to the absurdity of the situation, saying, “And then as well, her mate was like, ‘Yes, um, I can prove this was true. I went into the toilet after them, after they came out, and her knickers were on the floor.’
“Do you know how wild that is? That someone would actually sit there and fully make up a lie and post that so it goes viral? Which ruins someone’s life.”

A SELF-PROCLAIMED trophy wife in a 29-year age gap relationship says she bagged her husband by demanding a $1,000 weekly allowance.
Alyssa Armoogam, 30, met her husband, Mark, 59, on a dating app after setting her sights on an “older rich man.”

She agreed to keep dating him if he met her terms – paying for her beauty treatments and giving her a $1,000 weekly allowance to feel “secure.”
Now married for two years, Alyssa still loves being bought romantic gifts – such as getaways and designer handbags.
The Miami-based influencer hopes to encourage other women to “know their worth.”
“I don’t care if someone is rich if they are an a***hole,” Alyssa explained.
“There is the idea I’m only with him because of his money, it was one of my requirements but I wouldn’t have married him because of that.
“We really encourage the best out of each other, we see the potential in each other.”
Alyssa has always preferred to date older men – and her first crush was Robert Downey Jr.
“When I started dating people older my mum wasn’t surprised,” she said.
Alyssa was “miserable” and “over” her last relationship when she moved to Florida in 2018.
She decided to hit the dating apps but was set on what she wanted – someone rich, attentive, and who had faith as an important aspect of their life.
Alyssa’s first question to potential dates was “How do you feel about Jesus?” and Mark’s answer caught her by surprise.
“His answer was so funny. He said: ‘How do I feel about Jesus? I toured the country talking about him,'” she recalled.
“I thought ‘Wow, I wasn’t expecting that’ and we hit it off from there.”
Her second demand was “I’m willing to meet you but you have to cover the babysitter.”
A-list age gap relationships that have stood the test of time
- Kris Jenner & Corey Gamble – 25 years
The Kardashian matriarch, 69, met her younger man, 44, at a mutual friend’s 40th birthday party in Ibiza. They’ve been together since August 2014. - Sam & Aaron Taylor-Johnson – 23 years
The director, 57, and actor, 43, reportedly met at a film audition in 2009, and were married by 2012. The pair share two daughters and Sam has two children from a previous marriage. - Rosie-Huntington-Whiteley & Jason Statham – 20 years
The model, 37, started dating actor Jason, 57, in 2010. They were wed in 2016 and have since welcomed a son and a daughter together. - Catherine Zeta-Jones & Michael Douglas – 25 years
Catherine, 55, was introduced to Michael, 80, a film festival in 1996 and engaged three years later. Shortly after their engagement, the couple welcomed a son and married in 2000.
“If a dude is going to argue with me about $45 for a baby sitter – he’s not worth my time,” Alyssa said.
When they met for their first date Alyssa was immediately attracted to Mark.
“His eyes literally sparkled, he has a very kind soul and his eyes twinkle,” she said.
“I really felt like I knew him and at the end he handed me $300 [£237] to cover the babysitter.”
Mark immediately texted Alyssa asking to see her again.
“He was very persistent,” she recalled.
“I said: ‘OK, here are my terms – I want someone paying for my nails, hair, and waxing.’

“I said: ‘OK, here are my terms – I want someone paying for my nails, hair, and waxing.’
“I want a $1,000 [£790] weekly allowance to feel secure and I want to be exclusive.
“He immediately sent me $2,000 [£1,580] and said I wasn’t going on another date with anyone else.
“I loved it because I felt he had made it 100% clear how he felt about me.”
The money Mark sent Alyssa meant she was able to put a deposit down on a flat for herself and her daughter, Ziya, 11 – who Mark has now adopted.
Their relationship blossomed and after two years together, Mark popped the question in 2020.
The couple tied the knot in a small legal ceremony in April 2022 and a month later they welcomed their son, Keanu, two, together.
Alyssa calls herself a trophy wife but she feels her marriage is very much a “partnership.”

She explained that in return she is her husband’s “biggest cheerleader.”
But Alyssa does love being spoilt by Mark and she no longer receives an allowance as they equally share their money.
“He’s such a Pisces. He’s very romantic, I told him I like getting little small gifts,” she said.
“He takes that and understands it, he takes me shopping and buys me a Louis Vuitton.
“That’s his normal behaviour. That’s him romancing me.”
Alyssa said that strangers are quick to judge her as a gold-digger due to the age gap in her marriage[/caption] Alyssa and Mark welcomed their son Keanu, who is now two, after marrying[/caption]Alyssa says the age gap doesn’t bother her or Mark but some people jump to conclusions.
“When people look at me they make assumptions on who I am and my intentions – because of my age and appearance,” she said.
“When people talk to me they see how much love I pour into my family.
“There’s no question of why we’re together, it’s not like he’s an ugly fat fart, he’s a handsome guy.
“Age – what does it matter if our souls align?”
Alyssa is working on a clothing line for breast feeding women and is considering creating a course called “Dating like a trophy wife.”
“When I went into the dating scene I had this idea of what I wanted in a man,” she explained.
“I knew what I’d be bringing into that person’s life, that’s what made me feel firm on my requirements.
“Women are not realising their worth.”
Alyssa is currently developing her own clothing line and wants to teach a course on ‘dating like a trophy wife’[/caption]String of major road closures will hit THIS WEEKEND – check our map and see if you’ll be affected
DRIVERS are bracing for a string of major road closures this weekend, with half a dozen of the nation’s busiest routes shutting down.
National Highways is urging motorists to plan their journeys in advance and expect delays and diversions.
The agency generally tries to schedule closures overnight on the weekends in order to minimise disruption to traffic, especially commuters.
But this does mean that anyone looking to travel over the weekends could find themselves facing extra congestion and long waits.
In its latest road closure report, National Highways has listed some of the most significant A-road closures set for the coming days.
Perhaps the largest is the A1 (M) in the North East, which run concurrently with part of the A1 in connecting London with Edinburgh.
On both Saturday and Sunday, the main carriageway will be closed southbound from J37 to J36 from 8pm to 6am.
This will affect the Marr Interchange just north of Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
Likewise, the A1 will also see a closure northbound from J65 to J66 as it passes through Washington on Saturday.
This will then reopen at 6am on Sunday before the same stretch closes in the opposite direction from 8pm Sunday to 5am Monday.
Elsewhere, the A14 will close westbound from J13 to J9 at 8pm on Saturday night, reopening at 6am the next day.
But there will be “limited local access” to the carriageway to allow drivers to move around the area of Northamptonshire that it covers.
Other smaller closures include:
- The A259 from Mill Road to Tanyard Lane in West Sussex (Saturday)
- The A36 at Warminster Road in Bath (Saturday & Sunday)
- The A638 eastbound at Redhouse near Wakefield (Saturday)
- The A2 from Eastern Docks to Duke of York roundabout in Dover (Sunday)
All of these will occur from 8pm to 6am, except for the A638 closure which will last to 5am on Sunday morning.
Full information on the reasons for the closures and any planned diversion routes can be found on the National Highways website
WhatsApp users receive major free upgrade that makes voice note chats WAY easier when it’s really noisy
WHATSAPP has made it much easier to hold a conversation through voice notes – even when you’re in a noisy environment.
Voice notes, the little vocal messages you can ping to friends and family instead of a text or a call, are a brilliant way to liven up a conversation.
Transcripts are rolling out to users globally over the coming weeks, according to WhatsApp[/caption]But they can be frustrating to receive if you’re in a loud environment.
Or perhaps even more annoying when you’re in a really quiet room, where you don’t feel like playing half your conversation out loud.
The Meta-owned messenger, used by roughly 2billion people worldwide, has tried to ease this pain.
It has introduced a transcription feature that spells out exactly what the audio message says.
Once you long-press a voice note, a transcription will be tucked underneath that you can read instead of listen to.
While security buffs may raise their eyebrows at this, in true WhatsApp fashion, the voice notes are end-to-end encrypted.
This means that even though WhatsApp is transcribing the voice note – the company cannot actually hear or read the contents of the message.
Nor can anyone else for that matter, not even hackers or police.
“Voice message transcripts are generated on your device, and your personal voice messages remain protected by end-to-end encryption,” the company writes in a new help page for the tool.
Transcripts are rolling out to users globally over the coming weeks, on both Android and iOS, according to WhatsApp.
The feature can be opted into, so if you find a written detail of each voice note you receive annoying – you can turn it off.
To use it, first you’ll have to make sure you’re using the most up-to-date version of WhatsApp there is.
Then open the messenger, head to Settings > Chats > Voice message transcripts to turn transcriptions on or off.
Here you can also select your transcript language.

I was on MAFS – my wife spied on me and accused me of cheating but she was the one texting an ex
WITH drama-filled dinner parties, in-cast fighting and partner-swapping, it’s no wonder few survive the TV’s toughest dating experiment Married At First Sight UK.
Just six out of the 58 couples remain in relationship bliss today – and earlier this year fans of the hit E4 show were gobsmacked by the explosive break-up of one 2023 pairing.
Georges Berthonneau has spoken out about his ex Peggy – and says it’s for the last time[/caption] Peggy made a series of claims about Georges after they split[/caption] The pair married on the show in 2023[/caption]On Valentine’s Day, Peggy Lawrence, 33, shared on social media that she was “absolutely heartbroken” over her split with Georges Berthonneau, adding: “Nobody is more upset about it than me.”
But within weeks the narrative drastically changed as she furiously alleged that he cheated with an ex-girlfriend and claimed someone online sent her proof.
Now, in what Georges says is “the last time I’m talking about Peggy”, for an exclusive interview with The Sun, he insists it was all lies and airs his suspicions that in fact, it was her who was unfaithful.
Not only that – he claims to have fought to win her back, that she once followed him to try to ‘catch him cheating’ and slams those clinging on to fame, denouncing them as “fakes and frauds” at a “cesspool, loser fest”.
Georges tells us: “I’ve got a message from Peggy’s ex-partner’s girlfriend, apparently she was begging for him back, buying him Christmas presents and meeting up with him.
“They had a bit of a hiccup and she said to him, ‘Why the f*** are you texting your ex?’
“That’s when she told me ‘You’ll be pleased to know when your contract is over with Peggy, she’s trying to get with my ex’. I was shocked.
“I looked for his Instagram handles online and couldn’t find them. He’s blocked all of my accounts. That’s a little fishy if you ask me.
“I’ve never brought this up before in public, I’ve kept it close to my chest out of respect but she just wants to keep burning me with all of this bulls***.
“For someone so squeaky clean, it’s a bit fishy. I wouldn’t cheat on Peggy or on anyone.”
Georges says he started to “have doubts” about their relationship in early to mid-December last year, fearing she was flirting with and visiting her ex – Peggy has denied any wrongdoing when approached by The Sun.
He suggested they go on a break back in January but just two days later was begging for her back – only for it to fall on deaf ears.
He says: “I realised I wanted to give it another go and work things out but she ran with it and was like ‘You split up with me’.
“I think she wanted me to end things so that she didn’t look like the bad person and yes I ended it but then I said I didn’t want it to end and that I was stupid.
Fans were invested in their relationship for weeks while it aired[/caption] Things appeared to initially go well after they left the show[/caption]“Looking back though I’m glad I plucked up the courage to call it quits because it was the best decision for my mental sanity, my mental health and my bank balance.”
Georges claims “none of Peggy’s story adds up” and claims she wasn’t invested in the relationship. He says she visited his home just three times in their 11 months of dating.
He hoped there was still a chance for reconciliation after they ‘went on a break’ and he was “blindsided” when she announced they were over on February 14.
Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.
Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.
Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.
Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’
“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”
Georges adds: “You only have to look at her actions. To announce we had split up on Valentine’s Day shows everything. She’s showing people what she wants them to see.
“She knew doing it then would cause traction, cause a scene and cause people to feel bad for her.
“I was still fighting to win her back on Valentine’s Day, I sent her cards, chocolates and flowers while she sent me nothing.”
Among the things Georges argues do not add up is her claim that he cheated over the Christmas period when he took a friend, who is married, to a Christmas party and stayed over the night in a hotel.
When Peggy couldn’t get a hold of him that night, she suspected he had an affair – which he adamantly denies.
Georges responds: “I got invited to an event with a plus-one because I was looking for management.
“As a thank you, I asked my friend who is married and I’ve known for many years. I’m allowed to have female friends. I’m not a homewrecker and I’m not a cheat.
“There were a lot of paparazzi and journalists at the event when I was on this so-called ‘date’. I’m in the public eye, you’d have to be stupid to think you could get away with something like that.
“I got back to the hotel at around 4am and I passed out. I left my friend at the party with her friend who was there too.
“I don’t ever pass out but I did that night. The next morning I rolled over and woke up at 12 thinking, ‘Shit, I’ve got to check out’ and messaged Peggy right after.”
After leaving the hotel, Georges says he bumped into Peggy in a shop minutes away from his hotel and suspects she was spying on him, which she denies.
He adds: “I’m around 200 steps away from the hotel, a few minutes walk, and I see someone in a shop. It’s Peggy. She lives an hour and a half away from where I’m staying.
“I head in and ask Peggy, ‘What are you doing here?’ I think she was trying to ‘catch me out’ believing I was cheating. She didn’t have a good reason for being there at all.”
Moving on
The former MAFS man told us he has no intention to remain in the spotlight and looks forward to not talking about his reality star ex ever again.
He says that’s very opposite to Peggy, who he claims “can’t stop” talking about him and attends “every event because she’s so desperate for fame and relevance”.
Georges adds: “I didn’t want or feel the need to talk about this before, I’m here to set the record straight. I just want her to stop attacking me.
“This is the last time I will be talking about Peggy. If anyone asks me about her again I will say, ‘Next question’.
“I want to focus on my business. I want to move on, get on with the next chapter of my life and stop talking about something so irrelevant that no one cares about.
“We are not famous or important. This industry is a cesspit and a conveyor belt. It’s full of fakes and frauds. I can’t stand it that’s why I’m separating myself from it.
“Especially the events, they are the most cesspool-collecting loser-fest in the world. They are full of wannabes and I want no part of it.
“I want to move on past this. This was a showmance because I was in and she was out. That’s the truth. I’m so over her and have been for months.
“It took until March but I remember noticing, ‘I feel so much better with there being less pressure. I’m so much happier now.”
Peggy hits back
When The Sun contacted Peggy, she still insists Georges cheated and claimed to have ‘evidence’ but did not produce it.
She said she discovered his infidelity on Valentine’s Day and did not want his gifts nor to “protect him any longer” so posted about their break-up on that date.
Peggy denied infidelity adding: “I have never cheated on anybody and never would.”
She claimed she did give gifts to her ex but they were for his nephews “out of courtesy and politeness” because he sends presents for her nieces.
Peggy also denied having stalked her ex but did not explain why she was in the area where Georges had stayed the night.
She added: “I cancelled a big opportunity this day as I couldn’t sleep all night after finding out Georges was out with his ex and stayed in a hotel.
“I obviously loved George and it hurt me so much. He didn’t text me the whole evening yet posted stories at 4 am! I knew something was up!”
Survivor 47 Episode 10 Recap – A Longtime Big Threat Finally Gets Got
Survivor, what are you doing, bro?
