We’ve got the old Prince Harry back – he looks incredibly happy & it’s great to see, expert says
PRINCE Harry is back to his former self and looks incredibly happy again, a royal expert has claimed.
Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, legendary royal photographer Arthur Edwards lifted the lid on the Duke of Sussex.
Harry was all smiles as he launched a schools programme in Vancouver, Canada, ahead of the Invictus Games[/caption] Arthur Edwards said Harry’s positive energy was like a blast from the past[/caption] Prince Harry ‘winning’ an Olympic sprint against runner Usain Bolt in Jamaica in 2012[/caption] Harry amusing New Zealand kids in May 2015[/caption]Harry, 40, was seen grinning and laughing with kids at a school in Vancouver on Monday as he made another public appearance without his wife Meghan this week.
The dad-of-two launched the Invictus Games school programme before being seen beaming with pride at a game of sitting volleyball.
Arthur was asked about Harry’s recent behaviour and mused about the Duke’s positive attitude in recent weeks.
The experienced royal photographer made the comments while appearing on The Sun’s popular Royal Exclusive show.
Arthur told our Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson: “I must say the pictures of him this week of Harry with those young kids.
“He was laughing with those children and they all looked so incredibly happy.
“It gave me such a good feeling because that’s how it used to be with Harry.
“I’ve photographed him meeting young people across the world and that gave me such a buzz.
“Seeing him with those young people was such a great feeling again.”
Arthur recalled his last job with Prince Harry before he left the royal family and spoke about how happy children were to see him.
He added: “It was at a school in Luton and the students were so happy and he was so happy to be involved with them.”
Comparing that to the pictures this week, Arthur continued: “Seeing that side of Harry was such a buzz for me.
“It was just that one frame where I thought that’s how he used to be.
“When he was with young people or a child he’d become a child himself.
“I remember when he was with a sick child, he wouldn’t leave their side until they smiled.
“He would pull faces or do anything. He was amazing for that and that’s the thing I miss about Harry.
“Anything with children or young people involved even if it was a walkabout in Sydney or youth club in New Zealand, he would interact in such a way you knew you were going to get a great picture.”
It comes after the Duke has undertook several speaking engagements at awards ceremonies and taking part in charitable panels and summits on his own.
Some commentators see this as the prince doing a “full relaunch” of his charity work – and lately his wife Meghan is nowhere to be seen in public with him.
Sources in California say the new “solo Harry” is his own idea.
Harry was also interviewed prior to the first half of a CFL football game at the 111th Grey Cup in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Sunday.
He spoke to TSN’s James Duthie as the Toronto Argonauts took on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The surprise guest said: “First Grey Cup. What I’m looking forward to? The game getting started. Let’s go!”
He wore a dark dress shirt and long, black jacket and waved at the crowd before he was quickly escorted away.
The royal later returned to the field with BC Lions owner Amar Doman and Canadian athlete Wenshuang Nie.
The Founding Patron of the Invictus Games then took part in a jersey handover ceremony with competitor Wen.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle will RETURN to Britain for Invictus ceremony
By Matt Wilkinson and Summer Raemason
PRINCE Harry’s Invictus Games will be held in Birmingham – meaning the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will return to the UK.
The West Midlands city will be unveiled today at a ceremony and flag-raising.
Harry is not attending the ceremony but he and Meg are now set to return for the games, which will take place in 2027.
Meghan, 42, has joined Harry, 39, at every Invictus Games while they have been together after first appearing at the 2017 Toronto games.
She has avoided the UK since the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022 apart from spending just a few hours at Heathrow while changing flights ahead of the couple’s ‘pseudo-Royal’ tour of Nigeria in May.
The last time Harry held his games for wounded soldiers in the UK in 2014, the London games were attended by William, Camilla and Charles.
It comes as Invictus CEO Dominic Reid stepped down from his role and the Invictus Games are being held in Whistler and Vancouver, Canada, this year.
Prince Harry said: “Congratulations to Birmingham, UK, on winning the bid to host the Invictus Games 2027.
“Your city’s strong ties to the Armed Forces community made it a formidable contender from the very start.
“Over the years, we’ve seen each city bring a unique spirit and vision to life for competitors, their families, and spectators.
“We have no doubt the people of Birmingham will join in celebrating the unwavering respect and admiration we have for our veteran and service community, showing the world how their courage ignites hope and unites us all- something your city knows well.”
Doctor facing jail after she suffocated her terminally-ill dad, 88, with pillow in ‘act of mercy’
A DOCTOR is facing jail after suffocating her terminally-ill dad with a pillow in an ‘act of mercy’.
Dr Lisa Davenport admitted manslaughter charges at Oxford Crown Court today for killing her 88-year-old father Barrie Davenport.
Dr Lisa Davenport admitted smothering her 88-year-old father to death with a pillow[/caption]The guilty plea, which was based on manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility, was accepted by the prosecution.
Prosecutor John Price told High Court Judge Mr Justice Linden Barrie was “in the advanced stages of terminal pancreatic cancer” when he was killed in October 2022.
The court heard the OAP was bed-bound, largely unconscious and expected to pass away shortly.
Lisa admitted smothering him to death with a pillow to a care home resident where her father had been staying, and a manager.
Mr Price said: “The foundation of the prosecution case was the defendant’s own confession to others about what she had done.
“The evidence established that from that date until the date he died, he could not have had a more devoted carer or better familial care than was provided to him by this defendant.
“It was in that context that she took his life.”
The court heard Lisa’s motive was to put an end to his suffering in palliative care.
Mr Justice Linden heard how three consultant psychiatrists examined Lisa after her father’s death.
Mr Price said: “Their opinions are unanimous in finding at the time of the killing, Dr Davenport was suffering abnormality of mind attributed in her case to more than one recognised medical condition.
“There was a clear history of clinical signs and symptoms of the conditions diagnosed by doctors when they assessed her in October and November this year.”
He added there is a “long established pre-existing history.”
Mr Price concluded: “She was, at that time, unable to acknowledge what she had done. It was in that context the reports were prepared.
“The psychiatrists were each of the opinion that it had substantially impaired her ability to act rationally and to exercise self-control and it provided an explanation for what she had done.
“Those opinions by the doctors seemed to the professionals, to be of compelling weight.
“The prosecution formed the view that if this case went to trial the burden placed upon the defendant to establish this defence to the civil standard, was likely to be achieved.
“If there were a plea of guilty to manslaughter on this basis, the proper course would be to accept it for the reasons I have outlined.”
Defence barrister Mary Prior told the court Lisa’s sister and brother have “supported” her since the case started.
She told the judge: “You will understand this was, as the Crown fairly pointed out, a loving, devoted daughter who was the primary carer for her father who had been unwell for many years but terminally ill more recently.”
Lisa was shouldering “the burden of responsibility” because Barrie had refused to move into a hospice, the court was told.
Ms Prior added: “Regrettably the conditions she has suffered from for many years were not properly treated or diagnosed at the time this was going on.
“We will characterise this at sentencing hearing as a matter of mercy.”
Lisa, of Washle Drive, Middleton Cheney, Banbury, Oxon., is due to be sentenced on February 7, 2025.
She was released on conditional bail.

MATT Gaetz has withdrawn his name as President-elect Donald Trump’s attorney general nominee.
The move comes as Gaetz is at the center of a federal sex-trafficking investigation by the House Ethics Committee on Capitol Hill.
Members of the House Ethics Committee are reportedly in possession of a bombshell chart that allegedly details a web of payments Gaetz and his associates made to women involved in his drug-fueled sex parties from 2017 to 2020.

Leinster-bound Jordie Barrett ruled out of New Zealand’s Autumn Nation Series clash against Italy due to injury
JORDIE BARRETT has been ruled out of New Zealand’s clash against Italy.
The 27-year-old is set to join Leinster on a short-term deal at the end of the Nations Series.
But he has been ruled out due another knee injury after the All Blacks defeat to France last weekend.
The utility back left the Stade de France pitch injured on 39 minutes during their 30-29 loss in the French capital.
All Black officials didn’t reveal much about the injury but did say he was “unavailable due to injury” for the match against ‘The Azzurri’.
His omission from the team will come as major concern to Leinster and Leo Cullen after a knee injury had him sidelined last month.
The All Blacks talisman was pictured wearing a knee brace at Sydney Airport New Zealand’s 31-28 win over Australia in September.
Hey was subsequently ruled out until All Black’s test vs England earlier this month before he played in the Ireland and France test clashes.
He will join Leo Cullen’s men at the end of November on a six-month deal in a major statement of intent as they seek to get their hands on the United Rugby Championship and Champions Cup.
Meanwhile, Sam Prendergast is set to start for Ireland against Fiji as Andy Farrell named a much-changed team for Saturday’s Aviva Stadium clash.
Head coach Andy Farrell named his panel for the game on Thursday afternoon, with Prendergast one of seven changes to the team that beat Argentina.
The Leinster out-half, 21, comes into the starting XV for Jack Crowley, who drops out of the matchday 23 and Ciaran Frawley returning to the bench.
Prendergast is partnered by Craig Casey at scrum-half, with Jamison Gibson-Park also dropping out of the matchday 23.
Jamie Osborne starts at full-back while Bundee Aki returns to centre to partner Robbie Henshaw, and Jacob Stockdale starts on the wing.
Farrell has named two uncapped players in the starting XV with Gus McCarthy coming in at hooker in a front row that also includes Andrew Porter and Finlay Bealham.
Cormac Izuchukwu is two second debutant, starting in the back row alongside Josh van der Flier and captain Caelan Doris.
Joe McCarthy and Tadhg Beirne round out the pack in the second row.
I’m at my wits end with the constant bullying from my aggressive partner
DEAR DEIDRE: AFTER years of dealing with constant bullying from my aggressive partner, I’m at my wits end.
No matter what, in her eyes I can never do anything right, and I’ve had enough.
I’m 65, she’s 60, and we’ve been together for fifteen years.
At first, our relationship was full of love. We’d found solace in each other after the end of both of our marriages.
However, over the years she’s grown cold, and as her mental health has deteriorated, so has our relationship.
Now she spends every day picking at me, and almost every conversation we have ends up in a screaming match.
All I ever do is try to please her, but it’s almost as if she finds joy in berating me and leaving me frightened. Just last week, she said if I didn’t listen to her, she would get her brother to ‘sort me out’.
To make matters worse, she’s also changed all of the bills into her name, so I have no control over any of our finances.
I feel so stuck in this relationship, but I fear there’s no escape.
Please help.

My husband lied about his hardcore porn habit and it’s ruining our sex life
DEAR DEIDRE: MY husband lied about watching hardcore porn and now it’s ruining our sex life.
Whenever we try to be intimate, I see the images he viewed in my head, and it makes me feel sick.
I’m 52 and he’s 54. We’ve been married for 25 years and have two grown-up children.
He always denied he liked watching porn, even accusing me of paranoia, but I never believed him.
Then I changed the settings on our laptop, and managed to view his history.
He’d been watching awful, perverted films, which involve hurting people, every day for years. I was horrified, and felt betrayed.
When I confronted him with my evidence, he begged for forgiveness. He said he couldn’t help himself and hid his problem because he felt so ashamed.
He’s promised he’s stopped, and I think I believe him. I know he does love me.
We’re trying to rebuild our marriage, but I can’t forget what I saw.
Every time we start having sex, I remember what he liked watching – and what he would really like to do – and I have to stop.
Please help.
