Vast swathes of Britain under warnings for up to 8inches of snow & ice TODAY – before Storm Bert’s wrath this weekend

VAST swathes of Britain are under warnings for snow and ice today.

Parts of Scotland will be blanketed by up to eight inches as snow – ahead of Storm Bert’s wrath this weekend, as a danger to life warning has been put in place.

Airports are also warning passengers to double check their flights are still going ahead – and plan routes carefully.

The storm is set to reach the UK on Saturday and the Met Office is expecting it to bring “heavy rain, strong winds and disruptive snow to parts of the UK through the weekend”, potentially causing travel disruption and flooding.

Last night, the Met Office said much of the UK experienced temperatures near freezing, with the mercury falling as low as -6C at Tulloch Bridge in Scotland.

Many Brits are waking up to a frost with icy surfaces in places with several yellow warnings for snow and ice in place across the UK until 10am.

One covering parts of Scotland is in effect until midday before a slew of further yellow alerts for wind, rain and snow go live tomorrow.

An amber alert for heavy snow and ice will be in force between 7am and 5pm on Saturday in an area north of Scotland’s central belt, where 10-20cm is likely on ground above 200 metres and potentially as much as 20-40cm on hills above 400 metres.

The warning covers parts of Angus, Perth and Kinross, Stirlingshire, Aberdeenshire and some of the Highlands and Argyll and Bute.

Met Office meteorologist Honor Criswick said: “Through into Friday… snow showers are set to continue mainly around coastal areas though once again still a few feeding inland at times.

“There will also still be plenty of autumnal sunshine. Still feeling cold though, particularly in those brisk winds – once again we’re only looking at highs of around 5C, slightly higher in the south west around 7C.

“Across the north those temperatures struggling to move past 2-3C.

“As we head into Friday evening, a change is on its way as we introduce Storm Bert moving its way in from the Atlantic.

“So we’ll see clouds spilling in from the south west with outbreaks of rain – heavy at times by the time we reach Saturday morning.”

Ms Criswick said there are likely to be “heavy” outbreaks of rain throughout Saturday, “falling as snow” at times across northern parts of England and parts of Scotland.

The wintry weather affected education, with more than 114 schools shut in the Highland Council area on Thursday because of snow, including Inverness Royal Academy where pupils were told their prelim exams planned for the day will be rescheduled.

Almost 40 schools in Aberdeenshire were also shut while many others had delayed openings and in Moray around 12 were closed and others opened late.

It comes after more than 100 schools or nurseries were closed in Scotland on Wednesday because of the weather.

South of the border, 89 schools were shut in Devon on Thursday, 18 in Dorset and 60 in Cornwall, while in Wales around 10 were closed in Conwy, 18 in Denbighshire and two in Wrexham.

Joshua Zirkzee ‘would gladly go back to Italy’ after Man Utd struggles just months after transfer with Juventus keen

JOSHUA ZIRKZEE is open to moving back to Italy after a nightmare four months at Manchester United, according to reports.

The Dutchman’s agents have supposedly offered him to Juventus ahead of the January transfer window.

Joshua Zirkzee is keen on a move back to Serie A just months after joining Man Utd[/caption]

Zirkzee, 23, joined the Red Devils in a deal worth £36.5million in the summer.

But newspaper La Stampa claim he is already looking for a way out after struggling to adapt to the Premier League.

Zirkzee’s representatives have been in contact with Juventus as their manager is Thiago Motta.

The boss got the best out of him last season at Bologna, with him scoring 12 goals.

Zirkzee’s time at Man Utd started positively, scoring the winner just 26 minutes into his debut against Fulham on the first day of the season.

But the player has since struggled and it remains his only goal in 17 appearances.

SunSport exclusively revealed that sacked manager Erik ten Hag did not want to sign him and he was a stone overweight when he rocked up at his new club.

It took him a while to shift the unwanted timber and his former boss was unhappy about his fitness.

Zirkzee was an Ineos buy as they identified the deal as good value for money.

But just months into his five-year contract, they could now let him go to potentially free up space to sign Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres at the end of the season.

New manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen on bringing the Swedish goal machine with him to Old Trafford.

But the transfer will not come cheap as the Portuguese giants are set to demand around £80m for the man with 23 goals in 18 games this term.

Three Sporting stars Amorim could swoop for after joining Man Utd

RUBEN AMORIM has ruled out poaching any of his Sporting Lisbon players in the January transfer window.

But the Portuguese side’s chiefs expect Amorim will come calling in the summer – with his cheque book wide open.

Here’s are three Sporting starts United could swoop for… but they won’t come cheap:

VIKTOR GYOKERES

Age: 26

Position: Striker

Cost: £84million

Swede has shone since joining Sporting last summer from Coventry — catching the eye of all Europe’s top clubs.

Hit 43 goals in 50 games last season and boasts 18 strikes already this term.

GONCALO INACIO

Age: 23

Position: Defender

Cost: £50million

Ball-playing centre-back was handed his debut by Amorim and has since become a key figure in Sporting’s recent title successes.

Can also slot in at left-back if required and has 12 caps for Portugal.

MORTEN HJULMAND

Age: 25

Position: Midfield

Cost: £40million

Dane is one of the top holding midfielders in Portugal — and made skipper by Amorim.

He could be the man to replace Casemiro.

Me and my hubby had a threesome with his best pal – we thought it would spice things up but it was a total disaster

A WOMAN has revealed that she and her husband had a threesome to try and spice things up in the bedroom, but it ended in a total disaster.

She explained that she is not a ‘sexually adventurous’ person, but when her husband suggested the idea of a threesome, she didn’t rush to say no.

But what they thought would strengthen their relationship, has actually left their marriage ‘falling apart’, after ending in disaster[/caption]

But the woman admitted that when things went to the next level with her husband and his best friend, she quickly crumbled and couldn’t deal with being the ‘centre of attention’.

Keen to open up on the situation, which she claimed is now causing her marriage to ‘fall apart’, the woman took to social media to share all.

Posting on Reddit, on the r/TrueOffMyChest thread, the woman wrote under the username @ThrowRA-Idea-7278 and titled her post ‘Marriage is falling apart after a failed threesome with my husband’s best friend’.

She then confessed: “I’m not a sexually adventurous person. I admit that.

“After 20 years of the same thing my husband wanted to spice things up. My husband wanted to try out the experience of new people.

“Our first threesome was with a woman we both knew was very sexually open. She was a former coworker. It was for my husband’s birthday.

“It was fine even if it wasn’t my cup of tea but I just kept waking up with flashbacks to the event months after.

“Then it was a threesome with a man and my husband suggested his best friend Z. I didn’t have objections but maybe I should have.

“Looking back at it, I wasn’t ready to be the “center” of attention.”

The woman explained that her next threesome was ‘too much’ and after barely any time at all, she was left in tears.

She continued: “The first threesome was easier because I didn’t have to participate much and I could just withdraw and let my husband and the coworker do their thing.

“This one was just way too much and in my face. But I tried to put a smile on.

“After a couple minutes of foreplay my husband needed to take a break because he hadn’t eaten and he told Z and I to continue while he grabbed a snack.

Which generation is having the most sex?

A new report has lifted the lid on bedroom antics.

The research, conducted by experts at Kinsey Institute at Indiana University, revealed the average number of times people of different generations have sex per month.

  • Gen Z – three times a month
  • Millennials – five times a month
  • Gen X – five times a month
  • Boomers – three times a month

“We continued but Z suddenly asked me if I was okay. I just started crying and he immediately stopped what he was doing and asked what was wrong. That only made me cry harder.”

The woman shared that she was left feeling incredibly ‘overwhelmed’ and mortified, as she admitted: “I felt really ashamed and embarrassed and overwhelmed. And I couldn’t articulate why at that point.

“He helped me put my clothes back on and just hugged me until I felt better and more calm.

I can feel our marriage crumbling. I keep having flashbacks to him and his coworker

Reddit poster

“Z asked me again what was wrong and asked if he made me feel uncomfortable and I had to explain that it was just overwhelming with having four hands on me and being with someone else other than my husband and having to see him with someone else and sleeping with a friend and I was just not ready.”

But her husband wasn’t quite on the same page when he returned to the bedroom, as she said: “My husband came back later and joked that he missed the action and if I was ready for round two.

“Z told him I wasn’t ready for anything and that it was a bad idea. They ended up having a back and forth about when was a good time and I barely remember what they said.

“It’s been a couple of months since that and my husband and I have agreed on no more threesomes and he apologised that it was a disaster.

“I feel guilty for being attracted to Z. My husband has always been slightly insecure if his partner prefers Z over him since his first girlfriend tried to cheat on him with Z.

“Maybe the threesome was a way to placate his feelings and make him feel more secure that I wasn’t going to do that. But I harbored no attracted to Z before the threesome.”

As a result of the situation, she concluded: “But I can feel our marriage crumbling. I keep having flashbacks to him and his coworker.

“And I just keep remembering Z comforting me while my husband made stupid jokes about round two and missing the action.”

Reddit users react

Reddit users were left stunned by the woman’s confession and quickly flocked to the comments to share their thoughts on the situation.

One person said: “What a surprise, monogamous relationship tries otherwise and is irreparably damaged.”

And this my friends is why threesomes and open relationships almost never work

Reddit user

Another added: “I’m sorry, all of this sounds awful. Through Reddit I’ve learned that picking threesomes with existing friends or coworkers is probably a horrible idea. Especially at the beginning of trying it out.

“Now these people are stuck in your life and things can’t be unseen. Sorry you’re going through this.”

A third commented: “And this my friends is why threesomes and open relationships almost never work.”

Whilst someone else penned: “Why do women keep doing sexual things they don’t want to just to make their husbands happy?

“You sacrifice your soul for some man’s pleasure. I love myself more than any man.”
