BLM to Begin Pile Burning Near Horse Lake

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) fire crews will start burning slash piles in the Horse Lake area, southwest of Ravendale, on Thursday, November 21. The work will continue through fall and winter as weather conditions permit.

The project spans over 330 acres and is part of efforts to reduce hazardous fuels, improve landscape health, and lower the risk of catastrophic wildfires. Burns will only proceed when weather and fuel conditions ensure safety.

All prescribed burns follow detailed plans outlining required conditions, personnel, and equipment. For more information, contact the BLM Eagle Lake Field Office at 530-257-0456.
