And not just any car, but the iconic Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser that Eric and his group of friends often drove around. Being their main source of transportation, the cast spent hundreds of hours on those four wheels and the Vista Cruiser became an iconic piece of memorabilia.

With the show airing its final episode in 2006, the cast and crew had an emotional departure following its closure. However, many of the actors took their fair bit of set pieces and memorable moments while working on That ’70s Show.

Actor Wilmer Valderrama was so fond of the iconic Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser that he bought it after the show ended in 2006. In his interview with Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Valderrama revealed that he went to the props department after they finished filming.

[To the props department] I need the Vista Cruiser.

Fortunately for the actor, he got it after spending $500 on it. Being an icon, the Cruiser held a lot of memories for the entire cast of That 70s Show. The actor further revealed that it was “The best thing I’ve ever acquired from my whole career.”

Some people may call it an added expense or an unnecessary purchase, however, for Valderrama, the car means like family to him. And no, we are not joking about Dom Torreto, but this is what the actor said.

The Car is Going to be in Valderrama’s Family Forever

As the interview continued, the NCIS actor gave a genuine reason for purchasing the car after the show’s closure. According to Valderrama, seeing the car felt like he was 17 again.

During his talk, Wilmer Valderrama went on a detailed reasoning behind buying that car. Although it is simply four wheels and an engine, the Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser meant the world to him.

When I look at the car, it reminds me of [being], you know, 17, 18 years old, booking ‘That ’70s Show’ and doing that opening sequence when we’re just driving in the street.

He continued,

Honestly, it’s going to be in my family forever. And I truly believe, I’m going to put it in my will and make sure that my kids have the burden of keeping that car in the garage, you know?

Millions of car enthusiasts and millions of fans of That 70s Show can quite agree with Wilmer Valderrama’s statements. Four wheels and an engine are simply much more than machines.

That ’70s Show received a rating of 8.1/10 on IMDb and an equally impressive 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. With 8 seasons to its name, the show is available to stream on Peacock in the U.S.
