Flutter announce PokerStars chief as new UK & Ireland CEO following restructure
FLUTTER ENTERTAINMENT have announced their new UK&I CEO after Ian Brown’s resignation.
Brown is set to leave the company to pursue options elsewhere after just over two successful years in the role during tricky times for the betting industry.
Flutter operates a range of betting brands, including Sky Bet, Betfair, Paddy Power and PokerStars.
And it’s current PokerStars chief executive, Kevin Harrington that will take over from Brown in January 2025.
It’s the latest in a long line of promotions for Harrington, who initially joined the company as Betfair’s UK commercial director in 2011.
He performed a similar role at Paddy Power before rejoining Betfair as managing director.
Harrington then moved on to PokerStars in 2020, first as chief commercial officer and then CEO in August last year.
The announcement comes amidst a change to the company’s structure, with the international division sitting alongside the US business.

There’ll be five regions in the new international plans, with UK & Ireland joined by Southern Europe & Africa, Asia-Pacific, Central & Eastern Europe and Brazil.
Flutter chief executive Peter, Jackson said: “Ian’s time at Flutter has been enormously successful. He has transformed the UK & Ireland business on almost every metric and he will be a hard act to follow.
“Kevin’s promotion is very well-deserved and the business will be in safe hands as we embark on the next phase of our growth plan.”
Harrington added: “I’m incredibly proud to be given the chance to take over and run a business I first joined more than a decade ago.
“I want to continue the work that has made Flutter the clear market leader across the UK and Ireland and maintain the high standards we have set – with responsible gambling at the core of all our work.”
On his departure from the company, Brown said: “The transformation over the last two years has been tremendously exciting. I am particularly proud that we have taken share in a challenging market, investing in customer innovation and our people.
“Kevin has a deep knowledge of our business, and I am confident he will build on the strong momentum to take Flutter UK&I to new heights.
“I would like to say a sincere thank you to Peter and the whole Flutter team for what has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.”

POKERSTARS have revealed the first three stops of their European Poker Tour for 2025.
The poker giants start begin their third decade of the EPT, having successfully celebrated 20 years of the tour across the continent last year.
And it’s three fan favourites that will return next year.
They have revealed EPT Paris, EPT Monte-Carlo and EPT Barcelona will all return in 2025.
Paris kicks off the tour once again in February, with Monte-Carlo in May and the beautiful Barcelona setting coming in August.
With further dates and venues to be revealed and no confirmation of tour visits later in the year, that leaves the participation of EPT Cyprus and long-term fave EPT Prague in doubt.

There’s a couple of ways to secure your seat in Paris, too:

This is worth €8,000, including a €5,300 EPT Main Event buy-in, 8 nights’ accommodation for the player and a chosen plus one at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile, PLUS €484 in expenses.
- Or, Players will also have the chance to win a package (worth €3,300) to the France Poker Series (FPS) Main Event, featuring a €1,100 buy-in and 7 nights’ accommodation for the player and their guest, plus €261 expenses.

EPT Barcelona
– When: August 18-31
– Where: Casino Barcelona
The bread-and-butter of the EPT schedule, Barcelona is the mainstay location for the tour.
Last year saw wild celebrations as thousands made the trip to the Spanish city to mark the 20th year of the EPT.
It also recorded the fourth-biggest field in the 20-year history, with the €5,300 EPT Barcelona Main Event recording 1,975 entries from 1,469 unique players.
Players from 82 countries worldwide competed for a share of the sensational €9,578,750 in prize money!
Live Events Senior Business Development Manager, Julien Liarte said: “We’re excited to announce the first part of the calendar with the return of EPT Paris, Monte-Carlo, and Barcelona for 2025.

Mia Khalifa slams rumours she’s dating ex-Man City star Julian Alvarez in bizarre statement
MIA KHALIFA has denied rumours that she is dating former Manchester City star Julian Alvarez.
Recent reports in Italy and Argentina have linked the pair – despite Alvarez being in a long-term relationship.
Mia Khalifa has denied involvement with Julian Alvarez[/caption] Social media rumours had linked Mia with Alvarez[/caption]The Atletico Madrid forward, who moved to Spain in a club record £81million summer deal, is dating childhood sweetheart and social media influencer Maria Emilia Ferrero.
Former adult star Mia, 31, has taken to social media to deny any involvement with the 24-year-old, after rumours began to circulate on social media.
She wrote on X: “To clear things up: I’m not dating anybody, and if I was, it certainly wouldn’t be someone not old enough to remember where they were on 9/11.”
Mia has twice been married but is currently single.
She wed her high school boyfriend in 2011, with the pair divorcing five years later.
The Beirut-born star then wed Swedish chef Robert Sandberg, although the pair split the following year.
Mia has since dated rapper Jhayco.
She has made no secret of her love of football in the past.

Alvarez is in a long-term relationship with Maria Emilia Ferrero[/caption]And speaking to AFTV in 2019, she revealed her three favourite footballers of all time.
She began: “I’ve got to say (David Beckham) Becks because I’m a girl.”
Mia then went on to add: “Zinedine Zidane because that (his World Cup final head-butt) was the most exciting thing I’ve seen happen in a football match.
“I love violence and I hate that there is so much flopping in football. Yes! That (the headbutt) was the greatest moment of all time.”
After naming two Real Madrid legends, she then made a very left-field pick – justifying her selection by likening him to NBA star Kawhi Leonard.
She concluded: “And Aaron Mooy. He’s like the Kawhi Leonard of football. He doesn’t look like him but he acts like him.
“He’s kind of camera shy, he’s a little goofy but you never see it.
“I don’t know, he reminds me of him. Kawhi Leonard is a good guy.”
