She chased the man down the street and confronted him but she said he “showed no remorse” and denied saying it.

The woman, whose grandmother died from breast cancer, said: “I thought it was my son coming home from school so opened it in a rush with the oven beeping at me.

“Saw it wasn’t him and politely said ‘I’m not interested thank you’ and closed the door.

“I thought I heard him say something when he left, so checked my Ring camera. He did say something – I hope you get it.”

The woman, who wishes to be anonymous, said the man came to her house in Leyland, Lancs., asking for donations on November 6.

But when she politely said she wasn’t interested and closed the door, her Ring Doorbell captured the man say she “hopes she gets the disease.”

She said: “He had the nerve to deny it and showed no remorse and said I was the one who was rude for closing the door in his face.

“Firstly, I didn’t. I quickly said ‘no thank you’ and I have to pull the door with force so it clicks shut.

“Secondly, how can anyone who works for a breast cancer charity wish breast cancer on you because they deemed you rude?”

The woman said she does not want Breast Cancer Now, to be tarnished by the man’s conduct.

She posted the incident on Facebook to make the charity aware of his behaviour and prevent him from causing any further upset to those affected by the disease.

A Breast Cancer Now spokesperson said: “The safety and wellbeing of everyone engaged with by our fundraisers is our top priority, and we take any complaints made extremely seriously.

“The details of this incident fall well below the high standards we expect from our third-party fundraisers, and we would like to offer our sincere apologies to the woman for any distress and upset caused.

“We have worked closely with Appco UK to thoroughly investigate the details of this incident and ensure that the appropriate action was swiftly taken.

“We will continue to work with our agency partners to ensure that fundraisers working on our behalf adhere to the fundraising code of conduct at all times.”

New Marks & Spencers store opens in ‘biggest’ Irish train station 3 years after Heuston outlet closed

A NEW Marks & Spencers store has just opened in the “biggest” train station on the island of Ireland.

The British retailer is now trading at Belfast Grand Central Station – just three years after the popular branch at Dublin’s Heuston Station closed.

This new M&S Food store is operated by SSP Group, a leader in food and beverage outlets in plenty of travel locations across Britain.

M&S has had a long-standing partnership with SSP Group in the UK, offering commuters and travellers with high-quality, convenient food options on the go.

The store is located at the heart of one of Belfast’s most anticipated infrastructure projects, Grand Central Station, offering easy access for tourists and commuters in the city.

The new €405,843,108 station is the largest transport hub on the island of Ireland, providing eight railway platforms and 26 bus stands.

Translink, which Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company owns, described it as a “game-changer” due to its capacity to cater for 20million passenger journeys a year.

The original transport hub situated on Grosvenor Road has now closed.

Commuters can now enjoy a range of M&S favourites, including a bakery stocked with freshly baked pastries.

The popular ‘Food to Go’ section also offers sandwiches, salads, and locally sourced options from Newry-based supplier Around Noon.

There are also lots of meal choices, like Collection Wood Fired pizzas and ready meals, alongside M&S’s beloved treats, including Percy Pigs.

M&S Country Director in Ireland & Northern Ireland Eddie Murphy said he is excited about the partnership with SSP Group and the opening of the store.

He said: “We’re thrilled to partner with SSP Group once again and open the first M&S Food store in a major Northern Ireland travel hub.

“Grand Central Station is a key part of Belfast’s infrastructure and unlocking the city’s future potential, and we’re proud to bring our quality and freshness to customers on the go.

“Whether commuters are grabbing a quick bite or picking up dinner for tonight, the store offers a fantastic range, including sandwiches from our local supplier Around Noon.

“This not only highlights our commitment to support local producers, but also ensures fresh, great quality options for our customers.”

SSP Group currently operates 54 M&S Food stores across Northern Ireland and Britain.

CEO of SSP UK & Ireland Kari Daniels said that M&S’s premium food selection combined with SSP’s travel expertise will make the new store a popular stop.

‘Welcoming stop for passengers’

He said: “We have a long-standing relationship with M&S Food and are excited to open our first store together in Northern Ireland.

“I’m confident that the powerful combination of M&S’s premium food range and our travel retail expertise will make this store a convenient and welcome stop for passengers at Belfast Grand Central Station.”

Translink’s Chief Executive Chris Conway also said the station is the perfect place for the new store, giving people a space where they can meet, connect, and engage with one another.

And it’s three fan favourites that will return next year.

They have revealed EPT Paris, EPT Monte-Carlo and EPT Barcelona will all return in 2025.

Paris kicks off the tour once again in February, with Monte-Carlo in May and the beautiful Barcelona setting coming in August.

With further dates and venues to be revealed and no confirmation of tour visits later in the year, that leaves the participation of EPT Cyprus and long-term fave EPT Prague in doubt.

But with the PokerStars Power Path, there’s more chances than ever before of securing your seat in a bid to win life-changing money.

EPT Paris

– When: February 12-23

The jam-packed, off-the-felt activities are like some you won’t experience anywhere else, too.

There’s a couple of ways to secure your seat in Paris, too:

  1. EPT Paris online satellites will be live from Sunday November 17, offering players the opportunity to win a full package to EPT Paris. This is worth €8,000, including a €5,300 EPT Main Event buy-in, 8 nights’ accommodation for the player and a chosen plus one at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile, PLUS €484 in expenses.
  2. Or, Players will also have the chance to win a package (worth €3,300) to the France Poker Series (FPS) Main Event, featuring a €1,100 buy-in and 7 nights’ accommodation for the player and their guest, plus €261 expenses.

PokerStars’ Power Path also allows players a path to the action via any of the following steps:

Just the most stunning location and a perfect setting to test your poker ability.

The picturesque venue and the glitz and glamour of Monte-Carlo are a must-experience, again with off-the-felt activities a real treat.

EPT Barcelona

– When: August 18-31

– Where: Casino Barcelona

The bread-and-butter of the EPT schedule, Barcelona is the mainstay location for the tour.

Last year saw wild celebrations as thousands made the trip to the Spanish city to mark the 20th year of the EPT.

It also recorded the fourth-biggest field in the 20-year history, with the €5,300 EPT Barcelona Main Event recording 1,975 entries from 1,469 unique players.

Players from 82 countries worldwide competed for a share of the sensational €9,578,750 in prize money!

Live Events Senior Business Development Manager, Julien Liarte said: “We’re excited to announce the first part of the calendar with the return of EPT Paris, Monte-Carlo, and Barcelona for 2025.

“These iconic stops have become cornerstones of the European Poker Tour, each offering unique experiences and unparalleled competition. We can’t wait to welcome players back for another incredible year of live poker.”
