School Of Rock child stars get married 22 years after meeting on film set – surrounded by their movie co-stars

Collage of a boy, a girl, and a wedding couple.

SCHOOL Of Rock child stars have tied the knot after they met on the movie set more than 22 years ago.

The 2004 movie, starring Jack Black, follows the lead character Dewey Finn, an amateur rock enthusiast, who takes up his friend’s job by posing as a substitute teacher.

With no qualifications for it, Dewey instead starts training the students to form a band.

And when the movie was being filmed in the early noughties – love blossomed between two of the stars on set – kind of.

School of Rock co-stars Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli met on the film’s set 22 years ago, and now they are married.

Caitlin and Angelo, who recently got married in New York, played classmates Marta and Frankie in the flick.

Although they met years before, it was in 2016 when romance blossomed between the pair.

However, they revealed their romance to the world in 2021 during an interview where they told of how they started dating five years prior.

They also detailed how they reconnected when Caitlin moved to Florida where Angelo was living.

They then announced their engagement in October 2024, when Caitlin rocked a massive diamond ring for a photo shoot with her now-husband.

Tying the knot in New York this week in front of their former co-stars, they all then went on to celebrate at Park Château Estate & Gardens, with some of the attendees sharing glimpses and snippets from the big day.

GLAMOROUS BRIDE

Caitlin, 33, wore a stunning white strapless satin gown for her big day, complete with a long veil and some elbow-length satin gloves.

Showing off her figure, the gown that she wore had a huge and very sexy thigh-high split.

The star then completed the look with some thigh high white boots as she danced with her husband on the dancefloor.

Meanwhile, the groom, Angelo, 32, wore a smart suit for the occasion, and he looked totally overjoyed to have just married his bride.

CAST REUNION AT WEDDING BASH

The couple’s former co-stars from School of Rock were in attendance, with the bash attended by many of their loved ones.

From the movie that caused them to meet, the co-stars in attendance were: Rivkah Reyes, who played bassist Katie; Brian Falduto, Joey Gaydos Jr., Rivkah Reyesm Robert Tsai, Maryam Hassan, Aleisha Allen, and Cole Hawkins.

Rivkah shared a video of the co-stars posing for photos before the new couple did their first dance in front of their loved ones.

“1st post of the year and what better way to kick it off than with my family of 20+ years?!” she began in the caption.

“I spent the past weekend witnessing Caitlyn & Angelo get married and it was absolutely beautiful and the perfect little reunion for us all!!!

“The room was full of LOVE, LAUGHS, a lot of dancing and FOOD! (Baby, they made sure we were STUFFED),” she added.

Rivkah then concluded: “Love y’all dearly and thank you both for kicking the year off with a BANGGG #schoolofrock.”

EMOTIONAL FANS

Reacting to a grid post where Rivkah said it was the “best wedding ever”, fans were quick to share their thoughts.

“It’s an epic love story! School of Rock created a marriage,” penned one.

Another added: “Ugh this warms my heart.”

While a third said: “So wholesome. Congrats to the lovebirds.”

And a fourth penned: “So emotional over this whole thing.”

The actress is currently on maternity leave from the soap, and gave birth to a daughter last month.

Spotted braving the bleak Manchester weather, the mum of two wore her blonde hair tied up in a top knot.

She wore a black coat and sweatpants as she headed out to the shops with her youngest in the pram with her.

Jorgie confirmed her safe little arrival on the 11th December as she wrote on Instagram: “She’s here …..! We are complete. Thank you to everyone at Wigan hospital.”

Jorgie also lavished praise on her midwife, Sandi.

She added: “Especially @sandi_goulding who is our everything. I couldn’t of asked for a better day x x”

Jorgie and her fiance Ollie Piotrowski are already parents to son Forest, who was born in November 2022.

The couple have not confirmed the name of their daughter as of yet.

Jorgie revealed she was pregnant back in May last year in the final episode of ITVBe reality series, Drama Queens.

The show followed her and several other young female soap stars in their lives away from the show.

She told the camera: “So guys… guess what? I am pregnant. And I am a little bit moody, not full mood.”

Ollie was then seeing touching her tummy, as the couple revealed they were excited but also “scared”.

Becoming a mum has been an emotional journey for Jorgie, as she miscarried quads in 2021 – a year before she welcomed Forest.

Classic 00s film being rebooted as a TV series – but there’s a twist

A CLASSIC 00s film based on a novel is being rebooted as a TV series – but with a twist.

Shia LaBeouf played the lead in classic 2003 Disney movie Holes.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Disney+ have handed out a pilot order for a potential TV series reboot.

This iteration would shift focus to a teenage girl – a re-imagining from a different perspective.

In the original story, Stanley Yelnats is sent to Camp Green Lake – a juvenile detention facility – after being wrongfully convicted of stealing.

The formidable Warden forces campers to dig holes for unknown reasons.

Meanwhile, the potential show is written by Alina Mankin with Liz Phang serving as showrunner.

Fans have shared mixed reactions on social media.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one wrote: “I’m looking forward for this!”

Another, however, commented: “Definitely did NOT ask for this.”

A third chimed in: “The original #Holes film had a great cast & the story was unique.

“It could do well as a series for @DisneyPlus.”

While a fourth wrote: “I mean, I love the book & movie, but I’ll need to wait & see how this turns out before I decide on if I want this.”

A fifth suggested: “They should also adapt the sequel to the book Small Steps.”

Alien and Ghostbusters star Sigourney Weaver starred as main antagonist The Warden.

The film‘s all-star cast also featured Jon Voight, Henry Winkler, Patricia Arquette, Tim Blake Nelson and Dulé Hill.

Greggs hikes the price of iconic menu item AGAIN and customers are furious

GREGGS has sparked shopper fury after hiking the cost of a sausage roll to £1.30.

Customers have slammed the bakery chain after it bumped up the price of the popular snack by 5p.

Sausage rolls, £1.30 takeout, £1.55 sit-in. Contains milk, wheat, barley, sulphites. 330kcal.
News and Pictures North
Shoppers spotted the price hike in one Newcastle branch[/caption]

It is the second time in six months sausage rolls have gone up price after the cost increased to £1.25 from £1.20 last year.

The iconic pastry has shot up by a staggering 30% since 2022, when it was priced at just £1.

The increase was spotted at Shields Road branch in Newcastle.

Linda Johnson, 74, a retired quality control inspector, said: “It’s now £3.90 for four sausage rolls. I wouldn’t pay that – I would tell them to stick it.

“A sausage roll used to be £1, now it’s £1.30.

“I know everyone is watching their pennies but the whole point of Greggs is that it’s cheap and cheerful.

“I usually hand over the correct change but when I went to pay I was told that the prices had gone up.

“I bought a coffee which is up from £1.60 to £1.70.

“It’s still cheaper than supermarket coffee or other big brands so I will still go there.”

Heather Hife, 62, a carer, added: “It’s disgraceful that they have raised their prices.

“They are a big company and are making a lot of profit. They shouldn’t be putting them up.

“The prices already went up before.

“I will stop buying sausage rolls when they reach £1.50.”

A Greggs worker said: “It went up just after Christmas.

“There have been a few complaints from regular customers who have noticed the increase.”

Prices do vary based on your location, with some Greggs branches charging up to £1.40 for the popular snack.

Greggs has already hiked the price of its iconic sausage roll seven times since 2016, when the lunchtime staple set customers back just 85p.

The last time was in July, when both the meat and vegan versions were increased by 5p.

Sausage roll prices shot up three times in 2022 at the height of the coronavirus pandemic – from £1 at the start of the year to £1.15 by the end.

Greggs in numbers

Did you know Greggs sausage rolls have 96 layers of pastry?

The first Greggs opened in 1951 on Gosforth High Street.

There are also 2,473 shops around the country — a thousand more than McDonald’s.

Greggs is now valued at £2.6billion thanks to its budget deals.

Nearly £2 in every £100 spent in UK hospitality is done in a Greggs.

Newcastle still remains the sausage roll capital of the UK, with Geordies scoffing 17.9 million of them a year.

In November, Greggs boss Roisin Currie warned the Government’s tax raid on businesses would cost the chain tens of millions of pounds.

The Government will hike employer National Insurance contributions from 13.8% to 15% from April while the National Minimum Wage is also rising, piling pressure on retailers.

A host of other major chains have warned of price rises following the Autumn Budget, including Next, Halfords and Sainsbury’s.

Greggs has been contacted for comment.

It seems a lifetime ago now but it was 12 months ago that JANNIK SINNER scooped his first ever Grand Slam victory here.

Fast forward 12 months and he’s now a two-time Slam winner – having scooped the US Open in September – and heads into his title defence as the warm favourite to do so.

The Italian has racked up 18 singles titles on the ATP Tour and was the only man to reach at least the quarters in every Slam.

With the lack of big names contesting deep into tournaments in the field, it’ll take a big performance from someone to beat him to the title.

Could that man be Carlos Alcaraz? He’s without a doubt the closest challenger to Sinner having scooped the other two Grand Slams last year.

His issue is he’s yet to progress beyond the quarter finals here, though with this new, era-defining rivalry with Sinner he won’t want to concede another Slam to the man from Italy.

Novak Djokovic can rarely be written off but age catches up with everyone and that looks to to be the case here for him unfortunately.

He’s won this tournament a stunning ten times and now has Andy Murray amongst his coaching ranks for Australia but a straight sets drubbing in Brisbane from Reilly Opelka – world number 293 – is hardly inspiring.

Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev and Taylor Fritz are notable names in contention but they’ll have to go some to beat Jannik Sinner.

Women’s Australian Open 2025 preview

Women's Australian Open odds

Odds from BetMGM

  • Aryna Sabalenka 11/5
  • Coco Gauff 7/2
  • Iga Swiatek 23/5
  • Elena Rybakina 10/1
  • Zheng Qinwen 14/1
  • Mirra Andreeva 20/1
  • Karolina Muchova 20/1
  • Jessica Pegula 22/1
  • Naomi Osaka 40/1
  • Jasmine Paolini 40/1
  • 50/1 bar
  • (Emma Raducanu 120/1)

Odds correct at 3pm on January 8, 2025

Aryna Sabalenka is the obvious frontrunner to claim victory Down Under having won successive champions.

The world number one was a straight sets winner in last year’s final, doubling her career Slam wins.

She added to her haul in the US Open in September – similarly to Sinner – taking her tally to three so far.

But the second and third in the bookmakers list won’t make things easy for her.

It’s hard to believe Coco Gauff is still only 20 years old, with plenty of time to add to her one Gland Slam.

She was dominant in winning the end of season WTA Finals too, ensuring she comes here in top form.

While IGA SWIATEK lost in straight sets to Gauff in the United Cup final last week as continues her search for her first Aussie Open win.

She’s won four times in France and the US Open in 2022, so winning isn’t the issue. Her best performance here was a semi final appearance in 2022.

There is also an Olympic bronze last year to add to the collection and at a decent price, she’s the pick for this tournament.

Wouldn’t it be great if Emma Raducanu’s career rebooted here? She’s a longshot but we live in hope….

  • Iga Swiatek to win the women’s Australian Open at 23/5 with BetMGM

When is the Australian Open 2025?

  • The Australian Open starts on Monday, January 12th 2025
  • The women’s singles final is Saturday, January 25 and the men’s a day later on Sunday, January 26
  • The Australian Open is played on the hard courts at Melbourne Park
