BRITISH Airways has reversed its decision to scrap a long-haul flight route from the UK.

The flag carrier announced earlier this month that they would be ending their London Heathrow flights to Bahrain.

Having first launched 92 years ago, the route was set to end in March 2025.

However, they have since u-turned and confirmed that the route would continue.

They said: “Following discussions with our partners and stakeholders, we can confirm we will operate a service between London Heathrow and Bahrain International Airport three times a week from the start of the Summer 2025 season.

“This will increase to a daily service from the start of the Winter 2025 season.”

This was also backed by Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, CEO of the Bahrain Airport Company.

He said: “As the oldest airline operating out of Bahrain for over 92 years, the enduring partnership with British Airways is a testament to our shared commitment to excellence.”

The route first launched in 1932, when the airline was named Imperial Airways.

The route scrapping was due to ongoing delays with deliveries of Rolls-Royces parts, an issue affecting the entire airline industry.

They said at the time: “We’re disappointed that we’ve had to make further changes to our schedule as we continue to experience delays to the delivery of engines and parts from Rolls-Royce – particularly concerning the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines fitted to our 787 aircraft.”

British Airways will still scrap its London to Kuwait route from March 2025.

In October, the London to Beijing was suspended, with no confirmed date for it being restarted.

The route first started in 1999, and only resumed in 2023 after the pandemic.

That same month, the London Heathrow and Belgrade was also scrapped after just one year, when it returned after a 13-year hiatus.

In better news, the flag carrier relaunched their flights to Bangkok from Chiang Mai for the first time since the pandemic.

The Thailand route was suspended in 2020, but will operate three times a week, going up to five times a week in January and February.

Additional routes are also being launched to the US.

Seven more flights a week will launch to Miami, with six more weekly flights to Austin and three more to Las Vegas.

Seven extra flights a week will fly to Washington with another weekly flight to Pittsburgh.

The new routes will see British Airways operate 400 direct flights to the US a week during the peak season.

His name Homer James – is a tribute to his grandfathers Homer Gere and James Lowell and his middle name Jigme means “fearless” in Tibetan – a nod to Richard’s Buddhism.

Elle McNamara was born in August 1990, in Buxton, Derbyshire.

She is a social media influencer who goes by the name Bambi Does Beauty online.

Elle regularly shares videos on skincare, make-up and hair.

Not only does she post about all things beauty, he also gives advice on what she wish she’d have known in her twenties.

Due to her candid approach to skincare and also everyday life, Elle has a whopping 713K followers on Instagram and 410K fans on TikTok (stats correct as of November 2024).

Best beauty hack

In September 2024, Elle posted a clip called “Four things I did to age backwards”, where she showed what she looked like a few years ago vs. now.

In the before pictures, her skin had hyper pigmentation, which made it look dull and dry and she had a few wrinkles across her forehead.

In the new picture, her skin was glowing and plump with no sign of wrinkles anywhere thanks to her four skincare hacks.

Step one:

The first step she revealed was throwing your make-up wipes in the bin.

She said she stopped using them as they were “so drying which emphasises fine lines.’

However, please note that retinol can be potent and may cause irritation, especially when first starting to use it.

It’s recommended to introduce retinol into your skincare routine gradually, starting with a lower concentration and gradually increasing frequency as your skin adjusts.

The beauty expert advised not to use budget SPF creams on your face.

Ella said: “I stopped buying the cheapest SPFs for face and body at the end of the aisle and using on my face – they’re often heavier and can be pore clogging for the skin on the face!”

Living with the parents

In April 2024, Elle divided fans when she revealed she was still living at with her parents at the age of 33.

She made the admission during a short clip called “Things I do that people consider weird at my age”.

Elle then went on to reveal that she still lives at home with her mother and admitted that her 62 and 72-year-old parents are her “best friends”.

The influencer also said she had been single for 14 years and had no aspirations to have kids.

She also told fans she never goes on dating apps or “goes out” with people.

Elle added: “The older I get the more introverted I become.”

In addition, she revealed that she had never learnt how to drive a car and never drunk alcohol, as she hates the taste.

ELIGIBLE families across Ireland look set to receive a €100 cost-of-living boost in just three days.

It comes after Budget 2025 guaranteed the “highest payment” for Irish families – with maternity, paternity, adoptive and parents benefit increasing by €15 weekly, totalling €289.

The payment is now on par with the state pension for the highest payment in the Social Protection system.

And a double Child Benefit payment in November, which has already been paid out, alongside another €280 double bonus next month was also confirmed in the budget.

The majority of the Budget 2025 bonus payments, announced as part of the whopping €2.2 billion cost of living package, have already been paid out.

However, the next payment – the Child Support Grant – is set to hit the accounts of eligible people on Monday.

The payment was formerly known as the Qualified Child allowance but was renamed to provide more clarity.

Speaking in October, Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphrey’s said: “It has become clear to me that few people understand the term increase for a qualified child.

“I am therefore renaming this payment to the child support payment.”

The payment saw its largest ever increase in the budget, going up to €50 per week for under 12s, and €62 per week for over 12s.

The increases means the total annual value of the Child Support Payment will be €2,600 for each child under 12 and €3,224 for each child over 12.

Humphrey’s said: “Today’s budget is about giving people a little extra help and putting money back in their pockets.”

And the Child Support Grant is the next payment set to be doled out as part of the cost-of-living package.

Those in receipt of the grant will will be paid a €100 bonus on the week beginning Monday, 25 November – which is just three days away.

Child Support Payment is an extra amount of money that is paid out on top of the personal rate a person receives as part of a social welfare payment.

People who receive certain payments are not eligible for the cash and in some circumstances people may only get a half-rate of the boost.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

To get Child Support Payment, your child must:

• Live with you
• Meet the age requirement for that payment
• Be resident in the State
• Not be in legal custody (detained in a detention school)

It can be paid on behalf of foster children.

And your child does not have to be financially dependent on you and they can be working and earning money without affecting the increase paid to you.

However, you generally do not get CSP if your child is getting their own social welfare payment, except in certain circumstances.

If your child is 18 or over, you can continue getting CSP for three months after they leave second level education, or finish the Leaving Certificate.

And you can still avail of the cash if your child starts work immediately after finishing school.

If your child is in full-time education and you are getting a long-term social welfare payment, or a short-term social welfare payment for at least 156 days, you will get the boost until your child turns 22 or until the end of the academic year in which they turn 22.

If you are getting a short-term social welfare payment, time spent on other social welfare payments can be combined to meet the 156 days.

However, the period between any two payments cannot be more than 26 weeks – or be more than 52 weeks in the case of Jobseeker’s Allowance payments.

WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE?

You do not get Child Support Payment if you are receiving:

• Working Family Payment
• Guardian’s Payment (Contributory)
• Guardian’s Payment (Non-Contributory)
• Widow’s, Widower’s or Surviving Civil Partner’s (Non-Contributory) Pension
• Death Benefit by way of Orphan’s Payment

And you can’t avail of the boost if the gross income of your spouse, civil partner or cohabitant is over €400, and you get illness benefit, injury benefit, health and safety benefit, jobseekers benefit, disablement benefit, carer’s benefit or the contributory state pension.

You do not get CSP if your child is getting a social welfare payment or Supplementary Welfare Allowance in their own right.

There is an exception to this rule if your child is receiving the disablement benefit.

However, if you are getting CSP during the summer holiday period between academic years and your child becomes entitled to a social welfare payment in their own right, you will continue to get the CSP and your child’s payment is reduced by the amount of the CSP.

To get Child Support Payment, you must give details about your child dependant on your claim form when you apply for a social welfare payment.

If you did not claim for your child dependant at the time you made your claim, you should contact the section in the Department of Social Protection which pays your social welfare payment.

Or you can contact your local Intreo or Branch office.

ERIK Menendez’s daughter has shared a cryptic post about her father after rumors swirled about his brother’s alleged love life while behind bars.

Lyle’s second wife, Rebecca Sneed, has denied the allegations on a Facebook page she runs – claiming the pair have been separated for a while.

But Talia Menendez, the daughter of Erik’s wife Tammi, uploaded a cryptic post to her Instagram Stories.

“I feel compelled to share something important,” it started.

“I want to make it clear that Erik and Lyle are two separate individuals.

“The decisions of one brother shouldn’t overshadow the truth about the other.”

Talia, who is not Erik’s biological daughter, explained her family “is going through a lot.”

“I’d appreciate it if people would consider my dad for who he is, and not based on the actions of someone else,” the post continued.

Talia urged people to research before sending hate.

She then shared a black-and-white image of the brothers, taken in November 1989 on the steps of their Beverly Hills home.

Erik and Lyle remain holed up in prison after being sentenced to life behind bars in 1996.

They were convicted of killing their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, who were found dead with several gunshot wounds in August 1989.

Their conviction came following a second trial, which began in 1995—more than two years after the first trial was ruled a mistrial.

Both are serving their sentences at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego.

Lyle has reportedly been in a relationship with student Milly Bucksey since the start of the year.

He came across Milly when he spotted she was in a Facebook group that was run by his wife.

The Daily Mail reported that Lyle had contacted Milly using a cell phone, which had been seized by cops.

Lyle then used a second device to continue communicating with the student.

Milly studies at the University of Manchester and has reportedly traveled several times to see Lyle.

“Lyle adores Milly,” a source told the Daily Mail.

Lyle has reportedly told Milly he wants to divorce his wife, Rebecca Sneed.

He tied the knot with Sneed in 2003.

A post on the Lyle Menendez Facebook page has vehemently denied any speculation about any scandal.

“Lyle and I have been separated for a while now but remain best friends and family,” it said.

“I continue to run his Facebook pages, with input from him, and I am forever committed to the enduring fight for Lyle and Erik’s freedom, as has been so evident over the years.

“Please keep this page as the abuse survivor support page Lyle wants it to be.

“I’ll continue to update you all on the progress of the case because I believe we all have the common goal of seeing the guys walk free!”

Lyle has been married twice.

His first marriage was with the model Anna Eriksson, and the pair tied the knot in 1996.

They became close after she wrote him a sympathy letter after the first trial was ruled a mistrial.

In 2001, Eriksson filed for divorce after she accused Lyle of being unfaithful.

Lyle was 35 at the time he tied the knot with Sneed.

Lyle gushed about Sneed in an interview with People magazine in 2017.

“She has the courage to deal with the obstacles,” he said.

‘NEW EVIDENCE’

The Menendez brothers are currently serving life without parole, but in October, George Gascon, the then Los Angeles District Attorney, filed a motion that could see the duo resentenced.

During the initial trial, the Menendez brothers claimed they were sexually abused.

And Gascon sent California Governor Gavin Newsom letters that explained the allegations were credible.

A letter written by Erik to his cousin Andy Cano detailed the alleged abuse.

Erik told Cano, who testified in the brothers’ first trial, that he had tried to avoid his father, Jose.

“It’s still happening, Andy, but it’s worse for me now,” he claimed.

“I can’t explain it. He’s so overweight that I can’t stand to see him. I never know when it’s going to happen, and it’s driving me crazy.

“I need to put it out of my mind. I know what you said before, but I’m afraid. You just don’t know dad like I do.”

In the chilling account, Erik described his father as crazy.

The letter was just one piece of evidence that Gascon was reviewing at the time.

A hand written letter Erik Menendez wrote to his cousin about his dad's alleged abuse has sparked a review of the case that could set him and his brother free from jail.

Erik’s letter was written in December 1988, eight months before the double murders in August 1989.

The letter reads in full:

“I’ve been trying to avoid dad. It’s still happening, Andy, but it’s worse for me now. I can’t explain it. He so overweight that I can’t stand to see him.

“I never know when it’s going to happen and it’s driving me crazy. Every night I stay up thinking he might come in.

“I need to put it out of my mind. I know what you said before but I’m afraid. You just don’t know dad like I do. He’s crazy!

“He’s warned me a hundred times about telling anyone, especially Lyle.

“Am I a serious whimpus? I don’t know I’ll make it through this. I can handle it, Andy. I need to stop thinking about it.”

But Gascon has since been voted out of office, and his successor will be Nathan Hochman.

Hochman will be sworn into office on December 2 and will be reviewing the Menendez case.

Newsom will not be deciding on any clemency motion until Hochman has reviewed the files.

“I think it’s the right thing to do to hear from the new D.A. before I make any decisions, and so I’ll be deferring to his review, his analysis and recommendation,” the governor explained on his podcast, ‘Politickin.’

“I think [it] is important under the circumstance, out of respect not just to him, the new incoming D.A., but those that elected him rather overwhelmingly in Los Angeles.”
