National Apricot Day is marked in the US on 9th January. For those who made a New Year’s resolution to eat healthier, are you still keeping to your resolution nine days in?

To get one of your five-a-day, you need just three or four fried apricots (a 30g serving).
The exact origins of the apricot have been lost to time. Although, there are links to ancient Persia (now modern Iran), India and China.
However, the biggest clue may lie in the scientific name for this stone fruit: Prunus Armeniaca.
The “Armeniaca” suggests it originated in Armenia, where the population have been growing the fruit for hundreds of years, 50 varieties of which are still produced today.

It is even said that the orange stripe of the Armenian flag is also referred to as the colour of apricot.
This 16th century aphrodisiac inspired the 2010 Armenian Eurovision Song Contest performance.
The song was called Apricot Stone and featured a giant prosthetic fruit stone evolving into a flourishing tree on stage.
Despite close associations with Armenia, Turkey is in fact the biggest producer of apricots.

Picture the scene, a tropical beach bar and some great summer beats.

Rather than simply spin to see if you win, there’s more chance to interact with the game as the player must click on any clusters of three or more of the same fruit.
POWER OF GODS VALHALLA IS WAITING FOR YOU TO PLAY
The fruit selection on offer includes cherries, limes, grapes, watermelons and pineapples.
You blast the clusters to fill the fruit bars. Each fruit has its own bar and a multiplier attached.
Once the bar is filled, the player wins that multiplier value.
The game features a cascade effect, with play continuing until there are no more fruit clusters on the screen.

WE’VE GOT 10 RECOMMENDED GAMES TO TRY IN THE THURSDAY MORNING SCHEDULE
Taking place on a flour-strewn table with the sounds of a bustling kitchen in the background, players have a greater control over their potential winnings with Baking Bonanza.
That’s because each of the five winning reels has a choice of eight difficulty levels.
Players can select which level they want to play at on specific reels.
You do not have to play at the same level for every reel. For instance, you could select level one for reel one but level three for reel two.
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN PLAY BINGO FOR FREE
The different levels are represented by recipes of increasing difficulty.
The harder the level, the more unusual the required ingredients.
With one stake, players get five spins. Each spin reveals up to five ingredients.
Then, much like with bingo, all instances where a revealed ingredient appears on the play table are dabbed off.
Once a whole recipe is completed, players win the cash prize associated with that recipe.
CHECK OUT OUR INTERVIEW WITH CHAT HOST PAMELA
Players can try to make a whole buffet of bakes, from scones to vanilla fudge, lemon drizzle cake to cherry pie.
The hardest recipe to complete is golden champagne truffles, which is why it awards up to £24,500 if completed!
Thanks to all of the recipes involved, there are lots of fruits to enjoy in this game: strawberries, raspberries, limes, blueberries, oranges, apples, blackberries, lemons, cherries, raisins, pineapples, coconuts and bananas.
