Fortnite fans are divided over big changes to Battle Pass and Fortnite Crew subscription

FORTNITE announced the first-ever price hike of the game’s Battle Pass and some big changes to its Fortnite Crew subscription service.

The price of unlocking the game’s Battle Pass for each season is going up from 950 to 1000 V-Bucks, Fortnite’s in-game currency.

Changes are coming to the Fortnite Crew subscription, and it will include the battle passes for all game modes[/caption]

That’s exactly $8.99 / £6.99, as this is how much a bundle of 1,000 V-Bucks costs to buy with real money right now.

The 50 V-Bucks price change translates to an increase of just $0.45 / £0.35,  but it’s significant as it marks the first price hike for the Battle Pass since Fortnite’s launch.

The new price will be effective December 1, 2024, so players will begin paying more from the next in-game season.

The current Chapter 2 Remix season ends on November 30, right before the price change.

Fortnite’s Battle Pass price hike comes just ahead of the relaunch of Fortnite OG as a permanent mode in the game.

Fortnite OG will bring a classic experience to players who feel nostalgic about the game’s early days.

Fortnite Crew changes

Alongside the Battle Pass price increase, Fortnite is also making changes to its Crew subscription.

Fortnite Crew gives subscribers access to the current Battle Pass for Battle Royale mode, 1,000 V-Bucks, Rocket Pass, special Crew Pack skins, and other rewards, for a monthly fee of $11.99 / £9.99.

Starting December 1, 2024, the Crew subscription will add access to the battle passes for the game’s more recent modes, Fortnite Festival and Lego Fortnite.

The new additions will come at no change to the current price of the Fortnite Crew subscription, which will remain $11.99 / £9.99.

Also, players will be able to level up all three battle passes and grab rewards from them at once by playing any of the three modes.

This means that even if you don’t play Lego Fortnite or Fortnite Festival, you can claim the rewards from these modes just by playing Battle Royale.

Subscribe more!

The new changes to Fortnite Crew seem positive at first, as the subscription will now bring more content to players.

Yet for those who are interested just in one of the modes, namely Battle Royale, the additional rewards will be of little use.

Combined with the first-ever price hike of Fortnite’s Battle Pass, the changes clearly aim to push players towards the more expensive monthly subscriptions.

Most Fortnite Battle Royale seasons last for an average of about 75 days, except for Remix and OG events.

This means players need to subscribe for two or three months, to keep their Battle Pass active throughout the whole season.

While the changes are good news for fans who care about rewards in all three Fortnite experiences, a lot of players are focused on one mode, and for the majority of Fortnite players, that’s Battle Royale.

Vital bridge used by 12,000 drivers daily shuts in both directions TODAY as drivers brace for chaos

MOTORISTS brace for chaos as a famous UK bridge, used by thousands of drivers daily, closes for refurbishment works.

Many car-owners will have to rethink their route as the vital bridge shuts in both directions.

Clifton Suspension Bridge is facing closures from Friday 22 to Monday 25 November[/caption]

Bristol’ s world famous Clifton Suspension Bridge will be shut from 9pm on Friday 22 November until 7am on Monday 25 November.

The bridge is set to face electrical work, painting, and inspections – cutting off use by vehicles and cyclists.

Thankfully for Bristol residents, pedestrians are still able to use it and you can still take a wintry stroll from Clifton Village into Leigh Woods.

Cyclists can take their bike over but only if they dismount and walk them across.

Bridge master Trish Johnson explained: “As part of this project to conserve the bridge for many years to come, we need to schedule occasional road closures to carry out works safely.

“During these closures our contractor, Taziker, will be undertaking electrical works, scaffolding works, and painting the chains from the roadway.

“We will also take advantage of the closure to conduct inspections and general maintenance.”

Renovations are taking place to protect the platform from corrosion and is part of a two-year scheme to prevent damage to the wrought iron chains.

The links in these chains are now more than 180 years old and are at risk of deteriorating.

The historic piece of architecture was designed by British civil engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel and is Grade I listed bridge.

During the closures the chains will be painted with a protective coat to limit corrosion.

The project started in April 2024 and The Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust says the paint it set to keep the bridge in “top condition.”

The website states: “Over the next two years, Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust is working with Taziker on a landmark project to protect the bridge’s 180-year-old suspension chains for another 20-25 years.

“In Europe, there are only a few suspension bridges with their original iron chains still in place – this makes Clifton Suspension Bridge very special!”

The works will also add an environmentally friendly and sustainable illumination system, which will replace the current lights.

The project has been entirely funded by the tolls on the suspension bridge and the project received no funding from the government.

It costs one pound for motorised vehicles, which can be paid by card, and no charge for pedestrians, cyclists, or horse riders.

The Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust added: “We would like to thank you, our bridge users, for helping us to finance these important works.”

Bristolians are relieved to have their beloved bridge back on Monday 25 November.

Diversion Route

The diversion will be exempt from Clean Air Zone charges

You are able to cross the river Avon slightly south of Clifton Suspension bridge using Brunel Way.

This can be accessed using the A369 Rownham Hill which will take cars directly to Brunel Way.

The road then splits into Bennett Way, which will take you towards Clifton Village, and Bristol Gate which take you more central.

Coming back using Burnel Way, you can use Cabot Way which will take you back over the river and on to the A369.

Baby A was ‘wrapped in pink fabric’ as cops believe material could help identify tot found dead in snow-covered field

A BABY, whose body was discovered in a playing field in Salford was “wrapped in a pink fabric”, detectives have revealed.

Police think the material could help find out the identity of the infant who was discovered by Ashtons Field in Little Hulton on 20 November.

The grim discovery of “Baby A” was made by a dog walker yards from Ashtons Field in Salford close to the M61 motorway bridge at around 12.30pm yesterday.

Greater Manchester Police still do not know the sex, age, or ethnicity of the infant, with the remains found in a wooded area beside the entrance to parkland.

A police cordon remains in place at the scene of the grim discovery near Ashton’s Field in Little Hulton as scenes of crime officers continue to work under two forensic tents.

Chf Supt Neil Blackwood urged anyone with information about Baby A or the parents to come forward immediately.

Floral tributes and soft toys, including stuffed teddy bears and snowmen, have been left at the cordon by concerned locals.

Among these were a number of upset young mums carrying their own infants who visited the scene to pay their respects and lay tributes.

Michelle Eddison, 43, was walking her dog Apollo around the Ashton Fields area this morning.

Michelle said: “This area is really popular with dog walkers and kids. It’s always busy during the day. We’ve walked our dog here many times.

“There would be no time to leave a baby. This is a very busy road and the mother could be from anywhere really.”
