Pop-up swingers club in sleepy Scots town axed after angry locals complain

A SWINGERS’ sex-swap night in a sleepy Scots town was cancelled  after dozens of complaints from outraged residents.

Ads for the pop-up “members only adult club” said it would have bedrooms and a stripper pole to help “bring your fantasies to life”.

The event was set to take place at The Black Rose on Main Street in Kilwinning, Ayrshire
Organisers appear to have gotten cold feet, as council chiefs rained down on the plans after locals fumed over the plans

Its “Grand Opening” was set to take place tonight on the site of a former nightclub and bar in Kilwinning, Ayrshire.

The Black Rose was set to host the event, which has since been shut down.

But organisers DMC (Devil May Cry) Social appear to have taken cold feet after being warned they’d be breaching licensing laws.

Promos on social media claimed the venue would be the place to cultivate “unforgettable memories”.

Facilities also included a cinema, jacuzzi and a sauna.

Patrons were encouraged to “stay hydrated and physically fit for any activities that you engage in”.

Entry was to be £30 per couple, £20 for women and £40 for single men plus a £5 joining fee.

But outraged residents contacted local councillor Donald Reid in a bid to stop the club from opening.

He said: “Constituents were advised the premises had no live licence.

“North Ayrshire Council has a policy of no adult entertainment venues.”

It was feared enforcement would have to wait until after the club’s first night.

A police spokesman said: “We were aware of a proposed event planned for November 22.

“It’s been established this won’t take place.”

We have contacted the organisers for a comment.

Wexford icon confirms retirement from inter-county hurling side with immediate effect

An outstanding 2019 season followed when he helped secure the county’s first Leinster senior hurling title in 15 years.

That same year, he was awarded and All-Star selection award for his performances in midfield.

O’Keeffe also captained Wexford’s Under-21 footballers in 2013 and won two senior county football titles with St Anne’s Rathangan in 2012 and 2014.

He had previously won a Leinster U21 hurling championship with Wexford in 2013.

O’Keeffe released a touching statement as he confirmed the news:

It read: “I have loved every aspect of representing the Wexford hurling team since 2012.

“Although I will miss it, it has been a huge honour and I have made memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

“I would like to extend my appreciation to all of my teammates, each of the managers and management teams that I played under, all the coaches that I had during my time playing underage for Wexford and of course, the loyal Wexford fans.”

Wexford manager Keith Rossiter also credited the now former inter-county star as he paid tribute to O’Keeffe’s contribution.

He said: “It has been an honour and a privilege to have both played with and managed such a great player.

“He is incredibly talented and has had a great hurling career, and yet always remained steady and level-headed.

“He’s a guy for whom I have always had the greatest respect, and while the set-up will not be the same without him, I totally respect the decision he has now made.

“He is a pure gentleman on and off the pitch and has been immensely popular on every team he has been part of.”
