The next day, they took themselves to hospital after falling ill.
Mum-of-two Sue said the three Brits were “dismissed” by medics, who told them they were suffering food poisoning, so an ambulance to a private facility was arranged.
Travel agent Sue continued: “They had to wait an hour for the ambulance and by the time they got there, Simone was delirious and had trouble breathing.
“I think, basically, it had already affected her brain.”
The investigation continued yesterday into the deaths of Simone and five other backpackers after drinks were allegedly laced with methanol at the Nana backpackers hostel in Vang Vieng.
Sue said: “They had six shots each but they watered it down with Sprite.
“They didn’t really think anything of it.”
At home in Orpington, South East London, she told The Sun: “Simone was such a popular, fun-loving girl, who was hugely well thought of.
“What’s happened is absolutely tragic, she had everything going for her.

One shot is deadly
METHANOL is a super- toxic alcohol used in products like antifreeze.
It can be illegally added to make drinks stronger or be produced if they are brewed or distilled badly.
Just a shot of contaminated booze can kill, with 4ml of methanol enough to cause blindness.
Poisoning symptoms include vomiting, seizures and dizziness. A key way of treating a victim is to get them drunk with normal alcohol as it distracts the liver and stops it processing the methanol.

I'm A Celeb 2024 - late entries
MAURA Higgins is a late entry to I'm A Celeb 2024. Yet who is joining her?
2019 Love Island star Maura, 33, will be a late entry to the jungle line-up.
She will head into the I’m A Celeb camp, along with the Reverend Richard Coles, 62.
The duo will join the likes of Coleen Rooney, Barry McGuigan and Danny Jones in Ant and Dec’s jungle camp a week into this year’s star-spangled series.
Yet initially the duo will have their own private base – and a secret mission – before heading into the main compound Down Under.
Maura has already described the jungle as “hell.”
Meanwhile Richard, who has starred on Strictly, has confessed his biggest “fear.”
DISGUST OVER CAMP CONDITIONS
When Maura arrived at the camp, she was fuming over the living conditions.
“It’s not liveable, we have nothing, this camp sucks,” she fumed after seeing the camp for the first time.
She then added, “I’m going to ask Richard to say a prayer for us tonight because I’m gonna need one.”
Then, Maura added, “We’ve definitely got the sh*t camp, so thanks for that. Jesus Christ. I tell you I saw this on a movie, there’s a trick to doing this.
“Guys this is not livable, this is not livable. This camp sucks.”
