DARREN FERGUSON has hit out after an Everton star had a pop at him for not playing Tyler Young.
The son of Sir Alex Ferguson watched his side get knocked out of the FA Cup on Thursday evening at Goodison Park.
Beto gave the Toffees the lead in the first half before Iliman Ndiaye killed off the tie in the dying moments from the spot.
However, many fans were hoping to see Young, 18, make an appearance for the Posh against his dad and Everton defender Ashley Young, 39.
Tyler did not make it on the pitch which meant history could not be made.
A father and son have never played against each other in the FA Cup’s entire 154 history.
After the game, Ferguson insisted that putting Tyler on would not have been the right decision for his side.
He also revealed at an Everton star “had a pop” at him for leaving the teenager on the bench.
He said: “It was very difficult to leave Tyler on the bench but I’ve got to do what I think is best for the team.
“As much as I wanted Tyler to get on, if the game had been 2-0 at that point I would’ve put him on, but at 1-0, I had to get a forward on.

“I’ve got to try and get something out of the game and do what is best for my team.
“One of their players had a pop at me which was bang out of order.
“We are not a charity case.”
The omission should not have come as a surprise as Tyler has only made one professional appearance before the game.
He was a substitute in the EFL Trophy clash against Stevenage back in October.
Meanwhile, Sean Dyche was not in the dugout for the Toffees following his sacking earlier in the day.
Instead, Seamus Coleman and club legend Leighton Baines took charge of the side.
The pair had to deal with a nasty injury to Armando Broja during the game.
The striker was stretchered off after landing awkwardly and appearing to be in immediate discomfort.
The club’s hunt for Dyche’s replacement has already seen the names of former manager David Moyes and ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho be linked.

AN URGENT search has been launched for twin sisters, 32, who disappeared while walking along a river in the early hours.
Eliza and Henrietta Huszti vanished from their home in Aberdeen city centre and were last seen at around 2am on January 7.
CCTV footage captured the sisters in Market Street walking along Victoria Bridge, before heading to a path beside the River Dee.
They were heading in the direction of the Aberdeen Boat Club.
The have been described as white, of slim build, with long, brown hair.
Police Scotland confirmed extensive searches are already underway.
Officers are being helped at the scene by specialist search advisers.
Police dogs and a marine unit are also involved in the operation.
There are “commercial and industrial units” in the area Eliza and Henrietta vanished, according to the force.
Chief Inspector Darren Bruce, of Police Scotland urged local businesses in the South Esplanade and Menzies Road area to check their CCTV footage.
He said: “Extensive inquiries are ongoing to trace Eliza and Henrietta and searches are being carried out in and around the area where they were last seen.
“Searches are ongoing here and we would urge businesses in and around the South Esplanade and Menzies Road area to please review their CCTV footage for early morning on January 7 and contact us if it holds anything that may be relevant to our investigation.
“We also ask anyone with dashcam footage from that time to contact us.”
Police have asked anyone with information to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 0735 of Tuesday 7 January 2025.

A DRINK-driver has been jailed after a “beloved mum” and lollipop lady was killed in a horror smash.
Mum-of-four Rebecca Ashmead, 49, was killed in a fatal crash in Yate, Gloucestershire, at around 5.40pm on March 29 last year.
Avon and Somerset Police responded to reports of a collision involving a Ford Focus and a pedestrian on Kennedy Way.
Officers found Rebecca seriously injured among debris from the crash.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the mum-of-four was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ford Focus failed to stop at the scene, but the force were able to trace it and find the owner.
Investigators further discovered Ashley Billing, 39, had been driving at the time of the horror.
He was arrested shortly afterwards and officers found he had been intoxicated behind the wheel.
Billing admitted three charges at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday, January 9
He pleaded guilty to causing death by due care while over the limit, causing death by driving while disqualified and causing death by driving a vehicle in which the driver is unlicenced/uninsured.
The drink-driver was sentenced to nine years, reduced from 12 years because of his guilty plea.
Billing has also been banned from driving for 10 years.
Rebecca’s family said upon sentencing: “As a family, we are relieved the person responsible for taking our beloved mum and sister from us has finally been sentenced.
“While no amount of time in prison will ever change the fact that our lives have been utterly destroyed by his actions, we are grateful to have some semblance of closure.
“Bex was the most selfless, caring, fun, hardworking and supportive person and her loss has devastated all her family, friends and the wider community.
“We thank the police and CPS for their work on her case, and to everyone around us who has given support and kind words, while continuing to respect our much-needed privacy.
“We hope that this traumatic event may cause people to be aware of the potential impact of their own driving and consider taking a more active approach in preventing others from driving in situations where they may be impaired.”
CORONATION Street’s Carla Connor is to receive devastating news over her kidney transplant – as killer brother Rob is set to return.
The Underworld boss – played by Alison King – was left reeling to learn she might need another kidney transplant and dialysis after contracting sepsis.
The return of her killer brother Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) adds another complication to the mix.
Rob was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the murder of Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan).
In scenes yet to air, Ryan (Ryan Prescott) tells Bobby (Jack Carroll) that Carla would never accept a kidney from Rob – even if offered.
Although Bobby claims he’s meeting up with Max (Paddy Bever), he instead heads off to see his dad in prison.
Here. Rob tells Bobby that he has found religion and, if he is a match, would like to donate a kidney to Carla.
Having discovered Bobby’s visits, Carla informs a shocked Betsy (Sydney Martin) about her brother’s crimes.
Later in the week, at the hopsital, Carla tells Bobby that Rob’s religion is merely an act and she’ll never trust Rob.
Bobby insists Rob’s a changed man, while urging Carla to go and see for herself.
As the siblings reunite in the prison‘s visiting room, Rob tells Carla how finding God has changed him.
Rob wants to make amends by giving her his kidney – but can he be trusted?
In the meantime, Carla discovers accepting Rob’s donation means she would have to go private.
This is due to the cost of keeping a prisoner in hospital.
Elsewhere, Ryan is left shocked after discovering the procedure will cost approximately £100,000.

It comes as she was previously told by doctors that she had contracted sepsis from her head injury – when she was attacked in the factory
In hospital, Roy (David Neilson) and Ryan were by Carla’s side when she received even more devastating news.
The doctor informed her the sepsis caused more damage to her one kidney than they thought.
Sepsis can affect anyone. The condition occurs when the body’s immune system has an overeaction to an infection.
As a result, the body attacks itself.
Some people are more likely to get an infection that could lead to sepsis, however.
This includes babies under the age of one, people over 75 years old, people with diabetes or a weak immune system (either due to treatment, a condition or genetically), people who have recently had surgery or given birth.
Any infection can lead to sepsis. But those more likely to are those of:

She asked: “What is the life expectancy, you know, for a woman like me, my age, one wonky kidney, dialysis? Like, ten years, max?”
The doctor replied: “You’ve outlined the worst-case scenario. Hopefully it won’t come to that.”
