UBISOFT has released a surprise upgrade for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate on current-gen consoles, and it’s completely free.

The stealth adventure game set in Victorian London will now run smoothly and with better image quality on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Fans of the seriers can jump back and relive Jacob and Evie Frye’s story at smooth 60fps and 4K resolution.

PS5 and Xbox Series X will have both the higher frame rate and resolution unlocked with the free patch.

The budget Xbox Series S console will offer a maximum of 1080p for Syndicate, again at 60fps after the update.

If you have automatic updates enabled and the game installed on your console, you likely won’t have to worry about updating manually.

The Assassin’s Creed Syndicate 60fps update download size is 31.8 GB for Xbox consoles, and a tiny 0.75 GB if you have a PS5.

The game first launched back in 2015, after the critically panned Assassin’s Creed Unity, so many players may have overlooked it.

Sitting at a favourable 76 rating on review aggregator Metacritic, Syndicate has been praised for it’s beautiful recreation of Victorian London.

It is seen as a return to form for the series after a couple of missteps that brought about players’ fatigue with the franchise.

Syndicate was also at a turning point for the series, just before the Assassin’s Creed Origins soft reboot that ushered in the more modern era of AC games we know today.

Players can already download the upgraded game and experience Syndicate like never before.

It’s the perfect time to revisit one of the better entries in the series, as the next game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, has been delayed to February 2025.
