For weeks now, One Punch Man fans have been waiting for the official announcement of Season 3. Fans who had been hoping for an encouraging update were again dealt a serious blow. Sadly, Chikashi Kubota, the anime character designer, has revealed that things aren’t necessarily going smoothly for the once-beloved series.
Saitama initially became a hero because it was fun in the beginning, but he took his job as a hero more seriously as time continued. Though he is carefree, he is not quite as relentlessly cheerful as other shonen protagonists such as Naruto or Luffy, differentiating himself from others. One Punch Man, widely regarded as one of the greatest gems in the shonen manga industry, is set to have its own iconic ‘Nah, I’d Win’ moment, seemingly inspired by Jujutsu Kaisen.
One Punch Man to Deliver Its Own Take on Most Iconic Jujutsu Kaisen Moment
One Punch Man is an action-focused manga series that follows the adventures of Saitama. The manga’s plot initially appears straightforward, but over time, its deeper, more complex layers emerge. While Saitama is impressive in his own right, there are other One Punch Man characters who also possess incredible strength, one being the Number One Hero, Blast.
While Blast remains an enigmatic figure in the anime, manga readers are already familiar with his role as the top-ranked S-Class hero. Blast has been away from the spotlight for quite some time, and he only made his proper appearance in the Monster Association arc.
During the arc, Blast faced off against Garou, who had gained a significant power boost from God, and even outpaced Flashy Flash, renowned for his incredible speed. Owing to Blast’s immense strength, fans are convinced as to why he ranks at the top of the S-Class and is highly respected within the Hero Association for his contributions.
Despite being one of the strongest heroes in the One Punch Man universe, second only to Saitama, Blast found himself utterly outmatched and powerless during his confrontation with the series’ latest villain, Empty Void.
He is the leader and founder of the mysterious Ninja Village, where the S-Rank hero Flashy Flash and Speed-o’-Sound Sonic used to train. Void used to be Blast’s partner during his search for the mysterious cubes. After becoming influenced by “God”, he gained immense strength and became a Mysterious Being.
In the latest manga developments, Void demonstrated that his power was no joke. Facing off against the Number 1 Hero, he severed one of his hands and disabled every single joint, leaving the top-ranked hero completely immobile.

Now that Blast is left completely and utterly at Void’s mercy, fans are expecting One Punch Man manga to deliver its own iconic moment where the strongest character makes a comeback, akin to Satoru Gojo’s ‘Nah, I’d Win’ moment, fueling great anticipation among readers.
The latest chapter has already shed light on Blast being alive despite being severely injured, where fans can expect Saitama to arrive as the Top S-rank Hero’s saviour.
Chikashi Kubota’s Worrying Remarks on Season 3
Unlike most Shonen heroes, Saitama starts at rock bottom and makes his way up as the hero. After the controversial second season of One-Punch Man, it’s fair for fans to be reasonably worried as J.C. Staff never quite nailed the anime’s experience like Madhouse in the first season.
Season 3 is likely building the anime up towards a massive fight with Garou and other threats like the leader of the Monster Association, Orochi, leaving several die-hard fans anxious. With the third season in the works, Kubota’s alarming comments did not sit well with fans.
In response to DPDM’s question concerning whether One-Punch Man season 3 is going smoothly, Kurota said, “I can’t really say anything, but there might be some problems.”
These issues could be minor, major, recent, or ongoing. Given the vagueness of Kubota’s comments, it’s best to take what was said with a grain of salt.
While there might be problems, fans speculated the comment to be a false alarm. Since there has been no confirmation regarding the problems, it further points to the vagueness of the series’ production status.
