Recently, Florence Pugh had to deal with a horrifying revelation about her health and future chances of motherhood. The We Live in Time actress spoke about her decision to freeze her eggs, a step that initially shocked her due to her family history. Pugh confessed being diagnosed with a medical condition that destabilized her chances of getting pregnant felt bizarre given how women in her family had never dealt with such issues.

At the young age of 27 years, Pugh might not have expected to be facing some severe problems. Unfortunately, the results came out and she got diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis. This is when she was medically advised to get her eggs frozen, a step she never thought she’d have to take.
The Dune: Part Two actress revealed that her family included a list of robust women who faced little to no pregnancy-related issues. That genetics and history made her believe it would be the same for her, but this was her much-needed rude awakening.

The hoax around women’s fertility issues
Pugh mentioned she was thankful to have discovered her condition in the initial check-up but sadly her doctors back home rejected the diagnosis. The Black Widow actress was told she couldn’t face fertility issues at her age and the prognosis was wrong (via Glamour Magazine).

That’s crap. I had PCOS and I was 30, but I obviously had it way before that. I wish I had been diagnosed sooner b/c I may have been able to have kids then

This is not the first time women have been disparaged or overlooked for their reproductive health. F.R.I.E.N.D.S alum Jennifer Aniston also faced a similar and more controversial public and media slander for the issue.
