As the year winds down to a close, Apple TV+ has just dropped the trailer of another tantalizing project that has fans glued to the screen – The Studio. The comedy series, which will hit the screens next year, is all set to turn a lot of eyes.
This fact is down to many factors – its stellar cast, and of course, Apple TV+’s history of dropping great shows that has made fans believe that good things are just round the corner. And they just might be.
Seth Rogen’s The Studio brings together a stellar cast to Hollywood
The Studio is making headlines because of the feat it has pulled off – it will bring together the likes of Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders, with Bryan Cranston, Martin Scorsese, Charlize Theron, and Ron Howard joining the series as guest stars. And the names don’t come to an end here.
Though it’s a fact that many fans were sold about how great the series would turn out to be. Based on what goes on behind the scenes at Hollywood, the series is all set to offer fans a sneak peek into the chaotic life of studio executives.
And at the center of everything that goes down is Rogen’s character, Matt Remick, who is the new head of Continental Studios. The official synopsis reads (via Variety):
As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their own insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films. With their power suits masking their neverending sense of panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting, and award show presents them with an opportunity for glittering success or career-ending catastrophe. As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes movies, it’s the job Matt’s been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him.
It seems like something great is brewing.
The Studio has the fans excited
No one stands in a better position to dispel any doubts about the series’ prospects going forward than the 42-year-old. Having helmed it alongside the likes of Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory, Evan Goldberg, and Frida Perez, Rogen knows what it’s all about.
With the core revolving around the dynamics in the cutthroat world of Hollywood, the series is all set to provide a slice of what life really is like in the industry. And fans have bought into it.
After all, who wouldn’t love to see the stellar cast get involved in the chaos which will drive Rogen’s character to the tipping point? Who wouldn’t want to see Bryan Cranston flaunt about his studio? Who wouldn’t love to see Martin Scorsese rant?
With reactions to the first trailer largely positive, executive producers Rogen, Goldberg, James Weaver, Alex McAtee and Josh Fagen would be heaving a sigh of relief.
The Studio releases next March on Apple TV+.
