Dana White is certainly one of the most successful and respected names in the world of fighting. Being the CEO of UFC, he has an estimated net worth of $500 million and has certainly done a lot to help the sport get the recognition it has today.
With how involved he is in the world of UFC, it is difficult to imagine him being involved in other fields, specifically spreading gossip or starting feuds with successful actors. However, White recently put up a motivational post, which could very easily be taken in a negative light by fans of an A-list actor.
The businessman and fitness connoisseur ended up fat-shaming Oscar-winning actor, Russell Crowe, and it does not look very good for him.
Russell Crowe has become a cautionary tale
Russell Crowe has been a part of the film industry for decades now. While this has brought him a great deal of success, it has also meant that the world has kept watch as he has gone through all the phases of his life. While some have been received positively, like becoming a father or a husband, others have been looked at as more negative, like his ever-changing body.
Crowe has famously gained quite a lot of weight compared to his characters from some years ago. Although this does not necessarily have to be a bad thing and be discussed by the masses, many have talked about it. Most recently, Dana White commented on the same on his Instagram story.
The CEO of UFC reposted a screenshot of another post that was directly and very brutally addressing Crowe’s physical change as a way to motivate others. Pointing out his character in Gladiator, they stated that if someone of his rank can change so drastically, there is no hope for those who aren’t A-list celebrities.
To this, White stated that one should not quit their fitness journey and focus on being better rather than giving up. While the message is certainly a good one, one can imagine that Crowe would not be very happy about being dragged into it.
Dana White is a passionate fitness freak
Since Dana White very rarely has to prove his physical capabilities, one would assume that he does not focus much on staying fit, doing the bare minimum but not going above and beyond. However, the businessman is actually very passionate about his well-being and staying fit.
This enthusiasm of his stays even outside of the gym, practicing what he preaches in every aspect of his life. Most famously, White did an 86-hour water fast, which turned more than a few heads. Claiming that the challenge helped him reduce his chances of getting some serious illnesses, he mentioned that he felt incredible after doing it.
He even went as far as to teach his followers how they can do it themselves while pointing out that they should also keep in mind that he is not a doctor. This is just one of the many examples of White’s practices and making them known to the world.
