Elon Musk’s presence in the news has been reaching new highs since Donald Trump became the president of the United States again. In 2017, the billionaire announced that he would be buying the beloved social media platform, Twitter as what many thought was a joke. However, in 2022, he did exactly as he said, turning the platform into X and lowering its value from the $44 billion that he bought it for to $9.4 billion today.
Recently, the businessman made a similar announcement about MSNBC and the world cannot stop talking about what the implications of his comment could be. Additionally, Joe Rogan also seems to have joined the wagon, already asking Musk for a job.
Elon Musk’s Declaration of Terror
In 2017, Elon Musk made a tweet about how he loved Twitter. This was followed up byreplied Dave Smith, telling him that he should buy the platform then. Eerily asking about the cost of the company, it would seem that interaction gave him the idea to buy the platform in 2022. While a lot has happened to X, formerly known as Twitter, in these years, it would seem that Musk’s old habits die screaming.
Recently, Donald Trump Jr. replied to a tweet mentioning that MSNBC is being put up for sale by Comcast. He edged Musk on, tagging him and telling him that he had “the funniest idea,” hinting at a repeat of what happened in 2017.
Musk was quick to reply to the tweet in a similar manner as he did in the past, asking how much the company costs. Although this thread ended here, the CEO of X tweeted along similar lines again, replying to an account celebrating his declaration.
Joe Rogan Wants In On MSNBC
After Elon Musk’s second tweet on the subject of buying the news platform, MSNBC, Joe Rogan was quick to join the conversation, mentioning that he would love to get a job in the company. While many might be surprised at the request, the podcaster had a very specific goal when he was asking this question.
He mentioned that he would love to get Rachael Maddow’s job, adding that he would even wear her signature look in order to make fun of her. Maddow is a well-known news program host and liberal political commentator. She is also the first openly lesbian anchor to host a major prime-time news program in the United States. With this, one can imagine why she was made the butt of such a joke.
Donald Trump Jr. also commented on the same, mentioning that he would take it a step further and would like to take over Lawrence O’Donnell’s job, who is also another liberal political commentator. It is safe to say that this entire interaction seems dystopian on some level.
