Conor McGregor might be a celebrated martial arts fighter and long-standing champion of his game, but outside of the sport, he remains one of the most controversial people of all time. In his decades-long career, McGregor has stirred up quite a few controversies, from assault to robbery.

And now, recently, the Irish athlete has been found guilty of assaulting Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel back in December 2018. McGregor has been ordered to pay more than €248,000 / $2,58,354 to Hand, after being convicted of s*xually assaulting and physically abusing her by putting her head in a headlock and mock-choking her thrice during the episode (via The Guardian).

Meanwhile, McGregor denied the charges and maintained that the ‘accusations’ were lies and on the verge of fantasy. On X, in a now-deleted tweet, he stated that the judge’s instruction and the modest award given was for assault, not for aggravated or exemplary damages, and that he would be appealing against the judgment (via The Guardian).

Jake Paul is one of the celebrities who reacted to the recent verdict against Conor McGregor. Taking to his X account, in a now-deleted tweet, the YouTuber-turned-boxer attacked not only McGregor but also UFC president Dana White for his past public altercation with his wife and slapping her multiple times (see CBS Sports).

Paul and White’s long-standing feud is well-known, but the boxer took it a step further by stating in the tweet— Dana hits his wife. Conor’s convicted of r*pe. But I’m the bad guy? McGregor was quick to respond to the tweet and stated— No you’re a little gay nerd with a laughing emoticon.

Although both tweets have since been deleted, screenshots of their interaction have been going viral on social media. And this is how McGregor’s fans reacted to the incident:

Furthermore, fans are even more disturbed that Conor McGregor would choose to respond to such tweets rather than focus on his life and career. Especially after fans caught a glimpse of how heartbroken and embarrassed McGregor’s wife looked after the verdict (via X), the long-time supporters of the Irishman are even more disappointed.
