A MAN who was found dead in a house fire has been named by police after a suspect appeared in court charged with his murder.
The body of Joseph Ernest Johnston, 58, was discovered inside a burnt-out home in Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, on Tuesday, November 19.

The alarm was raised at around 6.55am following a blaze on Lady Street.
Emergency crews raced to the scene, and firefighters extinguished the fire.
Joseph’s body was found within the property.
A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with his death.
Gabriel Brown faced charges of murder and wilful fire-raising at Dumfries Sheriff Court yesterday.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
Brown is expected to make another court appearance next week.
